Bighorns areas with a young kid

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction to take a 8 year old in the Bighorns. I am fairly familiar with the area but am always looking for the best tree riding. I will be brining my son and looking for mellow open meadows and safe areas. What direction from Bear would you go? I thought about heading up to High Country Lodge because I thought I remembered the area to the north of there as being fairly mellow.

Any pointers would be appreciated. Thank you

I'm taking my 11 & 15 yo daughters there on the 22nd and looking for the same as you. We're staying at Bear Lodge and plan to head on the trail towards Freeze Out Point one day and then NW toward the warming shelter and High Country the next day.

When are you headed there?
