can an 8" big wheel kit extend my track from a 136" to a 144"?

It is not that easy. You are adding an 8" wheel trying to make up an 8" difference.
How big is your stock wheel? What sled and year is this for?
BTW... EVERYTHING I have read says that extending the track with a Big Wheel kit is a bad idea and the wrong way to do it.

First off, a big wheel kit probably won't work in the 136. You will probably have to get the 144 in order to install big wheel kit. But, yes with the 144 you will be able to make the two go together like your right hand glove.
