Big & Tall Sled Clothing? WTF

Hey guy's I need some help. The FXR gear has seen better days and looking at going with a base layer and mid layer system with uninsulated bibs and jacket or pullover. Problem is as normal with being both big and tall, it's difficult to find. I can't find either the base layers or the uninsulated stuff hardly at all in even a tall size let alone mine. I need to find someone who makes 3XLT upper base, mid layers and uninsulated jacket and the pants in a 3xlt or 44-46 waist with 36-39 inseam (Every pant's maker seems different on their inseam and mine is a true 39 but some 36's work cause the waist and crotch is oversized (Old Navy).) Anyone know of anyplace that makes stuff in this size? I can't seem to find anything unles I go back to the bulkier coats and bibs.

I hope you drive a Cat, because they seem to be the only ones with true tall sizes in their clothes.

I do, FXR also has tall sizes in their bulkier line but I cant find tall sizes in the base layers fleece or uninsulated stuff. I don't care for the manufacturers clothing to much. I think they're overpriced for what you get, I think it's because of the cat cash maybe.

I'm pretty tall to, I found Helly Hanson makes big base layers, up to like 5XLT. As far as anything else goes, i'm not sure I was able to fit into a 2XLT jacket (barely) I know what it's like though....

I think Klim goes to 5X in their stuff, not sure about the "tall" sizing. Give them a call or check on their website and look at the sizing chart. Good luck

Cabelas, I have the motorsports bibs, 2 XLT, I wear a base layer then gaiters over my columbia boots, then motorsports bibs on top (helps with the too short inseams).

I think cat started getting a different supplier too. They used to run so much bigger and longer than anyone else but I bought a set of bibs from catbargins and they are a little short. 3xlt and I only take a 36 inseam and they are too short! I have a fxr coat that fits pretty well but it is a 3xlt and part of my sleeve lenght is shoulders hanging off. I have a 37" sleeve length. I wish all the clothes were'nt made by a five foot china man!

Cabela's Guide Wear Series Gore-Tex rain jackets and pants make great outerlayers. They are basically the same this as Klim gear at half the price and make them in big boy sizes. I too wear xxl talls and have ape arms so I need to find true talls. As for base and mid layers, I would never shop anywhere but Cabela's for that stuff. Dirt cheap in comparison to sled gear and every bit as good or better. Agian, I don't have much of chioce because of sizing since the sled gear makers dont think there are any big guys that ride evidently. Check out the Guide Wear rain stuff for outer wear and I think you will love it!!!

Cabelas fer sure...Im 6'4"/315# and they know big boy sizes...yeah I dont get it- seems that sizing has changed for everything in the last few years...Ive been this size for 5-6 years now and some stuff still fits, some stuff I think WTF were they thinking...Sometimes they think 3XL is just bigger around the belly and the sleeves hit ya at the elbows or the shoulders are way too tight.....other times someone with a pencil neck!!! And thank God for Carhart stuff!!!

^^^^^^^What they said. I wear the cabelas midweight under layer with Klim outer and thats it. It was cold this weekend in Montana so I wore the mid and heavy outer layer from cabelas. I thought I was going to die. Took off the heavy layer 30 mins into the ride. I also wear their guide gear in the winter on my tug boats. Good/tough stuff that keeps you warm. I also tried muck boots this weekend, and what a great boot. I will be pitching the Sorels, Baffins, and all others. These are great for any cols/wet activity. I have huge calves and they fit right over. No more snow in the socks for me. Take a look at the Arctic Sport:

Klim goes huge, but they don't go tall ....... from what I've tried on.
You're trying on the wrong stuff then. The only snowmobiling top layer I've ever worn that actually fit right is the Klim Powercross Pullover. The sleves are looooooooooong on em, fit awesome. I have a 3XL pullover and either 2xl or 3xl tall extreme bibs (can't remember for sure) and I regret getting the tall bibs. They are way too long in the legs. Again, they are the only top layer clothes I've ever worn that are comfortable for me. Been looking at going with a Valdez parka or similar, but they are all too short in the arms. Just layer up good with the uninsulated top layer and your GTG.

But, I'm a self proclaimed Klim whore. Its all I wear (other then underarmour) when sledding.

Big and Tall Clothes .. Threads

I always find that its tough to find the long inseams and the longer sleeve lengths. Since im 6'5 and I have long arms its tough to find anything. Check out www.threadsbigandtall.com as I usually have good luck with their sizing. I know they go up to 38" inseams in pants and jeans and their shirts go up to 38/39 sleeve lengths. Give them a look. Good luck.
