Big iron shootout

Really... what promoting does this event need? All anyone needs to know is what weekend? If you can only have 1000 riders up the trail in a day it needs ZERO promoting. Call it what you want , but an organized event it aint. Geezuz its not even a race. Its a spectical , a gathering of wild sleds and riders , a chance for film dudes to film a large collection of talent , its a place for those riders to show-off those sleds and thier skills.
The more I hear about the organizer calling it organized the more I laugh. If you have never been there and want to go. Expect to see the best sleds and riders you will ever find doing some extraordinary things , expect to see the worst excuse for racing you will ever find , expect to have to be responsible for yourself. Expect this and you wont be disappointed.

You gotta give Dave some prop's, he started this thing and there probably isn't many people who can tell you what year it began as the "Sled head cup"
He has uncountable hour's and money into the event before the weekend happen's and deserves a pat on the back for having the foresight to see that us sledder's just want to watch this happen
A lot more could be done to make this event better but Dave is the only reason that it exist's
Dont tell us how much it suck's, take the bull by the horns and volunteer to drive the bus:beer;
Cheer's

even tho i had to have my shoulder reduced on the mountain from the drag races i still had a good time. the reason most people are there is to watch, and there is many more that want to see it in the coming years. Thanks everybody that made this event happen. Good job, looking forward to it next year with a healthy left side.

That's to bad about your shoulder. Myself and Shawn will be back to support it, just because we know of all the work involved. Cheer's to all who helped make this event happen.

My perspective..

Well from what I can see, is that a lot of people put a lot of time in and it became a clusterfug.
I can only imagine what countless hours ozone put into this event. you can't deny that he spent a lot of time, probably the most time on this event/per person..he had lots of prizes and promotions.
One thing that most wonder is if dave has all his marbles together... I myself haven't figured out if he does yet... all I know is that he did put in the effort.
It was not properly organized as a whole, there were loopholes, miscommunications etc/
As for the event, it DOES have to be organized, and managed. If anyone says it can just flow and take care of itself,, WRONG! It is like herding cattle.
Where I was standing at the top of the left shoots of elevator, it was a good thing that at least someone was there to keep peeps away from the crests, because there would have been a spectator injury for sure if someone was not there to keep an eye on the crowd. Dave was there and also FUJI, and others.. I commend their efforts to keep safety to the spectators.

I think IMO, Dave has to work closer, to the general planning, then act as the face if BIS and let the others run the show, and let him entertain.

The awards ceremony went a bit long, shoulda been shorter,

Something to learn by and improve.

the troy lee helmet looks pretty cool

Everybody better be on there A game for Yamafest because Monster has one huge lip at the top since sunday when we climbed it. Im not sure that its doable right now, you would have to sidehill way right to pop out! Or just hit it with Mclaren speed and bust through it with a backflip!!
