Big Horns, where to stay, ride...

Done several trips to Snowies, Encampment, Horns, Walden, etc.....
Looking to try the Bighorns in mid March.

Looking for recommendations on where to stay.
* ride from the hotel/lodge would be nice
* OK would be good, not required
* don't need fancy, just good.

* Options ?

Riding Areas, directions....
* Anything and the more you can tell us, the better.
* We're not bad for a group of flatlanders.... spend nearly 100% of our time in the Snowies and other places far off the trails...

Arrowhead Lodge, Bear Lodge, The Passage are all rideable right from the lodge and decent to stay at.

There is some nice areas to ride both south and west of Burgess Junction to ride.

I would stay at Ranger Creek Ranch, nice people, nice place, lots of good riding in the area. Can pm you with more details if you would like. Its a slow day at work.

How far's the sled into Ranger Creek Ranch? You do have to sled your stuff in correct?

the passage

I just left the passage monday after being there for a week! i would deff recommend it to anyone! plenty of parking, great food, plus gas! great service. pool and spa hits the spot afta a good days of riding!

How far's the sled into Ranger Creek Ranch? You do have to sled your stuff in correct?

Ranger Creek is the best place to stay. Doc, Corrine, Aaron, and Kelly are the best and they have the best snow. You will have fun!

looking to go two the southern bighorns next weekend can any one recomend some place two stay there would prefer a cabin but a good hotel would work two thanks is meadow lark lake still open

Last I heard there are no amenities in the southern Big Horns. Have to stay in Buffalo or Ten Sleep and bring your own gas up the hill. Anyone konw different?

If you are wanting to ride the southern side out of Buffalo, you will have to stay either in Buffalo,Ten Sleep or bring your own digs .....

Deer Haven Lodge is now open! 307 366-2424... Deer Haven Lodge is only 3 miles down the road from Meadowlark.... Meadowlark Lake Lodge will re-open this summer and be ready for snowmobile action next winter.... Give it a try!! Fuel, lodging, restaurant, bar and sled rentals.

The updates to the lodge and motel units are beautiful! Please give the new owners a chance... The southern Horns are making a comeback.

The state delivered the groomer to the hill today... It's almost time!

The lodges are separate places. There are actually 3 lodges in total.
Deerhaven - Lodging, food -LODGE OPEN
Meadowlark - Fuel available w/credit card -LODGE CLOSED
Meadowlark Ski Area - Food, skiing - LODGE OPEN
