BIG BOY SPRINGS

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO ORDER NEW SPRINGS, I'M ABOUT 240 LBS DRESSED UP AND WANT A BETTER RIDE THAN STOCK..DOES ANYONE HAVE A PART NUMBER ALSO? RIDING A 08 D7 SB

I don't think at that weight different springs are going to improve the ride. 240 with gear isn't that heavy. I'd be looking at shocks instead of springs.

Sorry but this is wrong IMO, due to the fact thath the original springs give you almost 11inc of travel. But with the springs as mentioned above I got 4inc of travel.
The sled was good before I changed the springs but superb after: GO BB SPRINGS!:face-icon-small-ton

Any Polaris dealer can get them for you. Part # is 7042079-167 and 7042080-067.

Get the .375/47 springs from any Polaris dealer, use the part numbers that Super Dave3 provided.

Any shock valving will give you a stiffer ride, stronger rear springs will give you less sag which is necessary in allowing more use of the suspensions travel. The shocks are valved pretty good from the factory, it is the springs that are way too soft on the IQ chassis.

new springs are the way to go

I agree with the above advice, change the springs to the .359 or .375 / 47 degree to get a better ride.
Give Curt a call at Fast Trax motorsports 253-848-0908. He will dial you in. I weigh in around 240lbs geared up too, and he suggested the .359/ 47degree springs and they totally fixed my 09 D8 sag issues. I love the way it rides now, even while side by side shuttling to ski and snowboard.
The #s for .359/47Deg springs that I used are:
7042068-067 and 7042069-067.
They run around $86 each plus shipping
He ships fast too, got mine in two days.

Why do we think that less sag makes for a better ride? I'm assuming we are not talking worn out springs that have the suspension sitting down on their stops.

You want sag in the rear suspension because suspension is not all about positive bumps but also negative bumps.

I'm 250 with nothing but my skivies on. My '09 Dragon was a terrible riding sled. I turned up the stock rear springs to set the sag so it wasn't really bad, but still had 3-4 inches of sag. I then put a set of ZeroPros on the sled and it went from a terrible riding sled to a plush riding sled that was better in the powder.

But if you want to get rid of the sag, or the sag is more than 3 or so inches, put the other springs on. Just don't be shocked if it doesn't improve the ride much.

sled_guy, You'll find that will work for a season, but eventually the springs will sack out and need to be replaced. Replacing with a larger diameter spring will allow you to use a lighter setting with the preload blocks and give a great ride throughout the suspension travel. Nobody is saying to make it ride like a 1970's F-350 with rock hard springs, we are saying that us big guys like to have more than 2" of travel before hitting the bump stops.
