Big bore vs pump gas turbo

Sorry to have wasted your time... Your gonna love my next thread titled Which can is the best for my Pro or maybe Which ski is best... I'll be looking forward to your input there also:face-icon-small-sho

Elevation and riding style might help people answer you a bit...

5-9k', technical tight areas, not into chutes or himarking... Hopefully get some input from somebody that has both or have ridden both (specifically on the Pro)...
I think I have my mind made up but if anybody wants to throw their opinion in I'd be interested in hearing it.

This will be my first year having both turbo and BB. I have ridden both in the past but never compared day to day.

My reasoning behind owning both is because every day is different on snow conditions...I would like to have the power of a turbo on those really deep days but a BB on the more setup conditions.

I think if i had to choose one or the other, i would say BB for all around riding.

My only back to back same day experience was with a rkt 858 kit and a Silber turbo'd pro with a low comp. head on 8 psi with av gas in it (not the best for throttle response) at roughly 1500'-2000'. Right out of the hole from a dead stop the bb felt stronger, but if you wick the throttle on the turbo to keep boost up while riding the difference in response became negligible. On the mid to top end the Bb wasn't even close.

Turbos require more maintenance (with the exception of some BB's I've ridden with in the past), especially when you get to the higher boost set ups. However IMO they have more gain per dollar spent and have a bigger fun factor.

If your going to run a turbo don't fool around with pump gas IMO. The performance gains and piece of mind that comes with running good fuel is worth the $$
