Big Block 800 transplant into iq raw

I started a thread o this and people responded. I decided to go in another direction.

See this thread: 2009 Dragon- need advice on 800 big block install

Shane hart has a pair of custom fit 800 big block pipes coated and new in the box for the dragon / RMK.

Good luck

You have a 08 600, isn't that the base for those 800 conversions? Dragon/Pro cylinders and pistons (has the same stroke as 800).

Good feedback on these.

HEY BRAD MY 925 WILL FIT THAT RITE ? WELL AFTER ITS PUNCHED TO 990 IM DOIN A SECOND RAW IDENTICAL TO MY 600 BUT WITH A LITTLE BIGGER HP

hey victor, how does this setup work for you? did you use the power addiction motor plate?

The set up works great. I had a custom motor plate that Fire and Ice did for me. I haven't seen anything that I am lacking or miss having done this over keeping it stock form. I have a set of twins and a single from SLP on this setup and they run great. I have a torque master from Indy Dan, rolled chaincase and straight rails, custom clutching and gearing of course and the sled performs great. I am going to start getting it lighter this year. I love being able to work on it myself rather than always having to take it in to have the mechanics tell " the computor says everything is within spec or tolerances, we can't find anything wrong with it," when you know darn well they aren't working ie:dragon bogs and cylinder tolances. Even when you burndown, you can pull the motor in 20 minutes and put one back and be running in 45 min...on the mountain. If the sled isn't running well, it is my fault and not something out of my control.

Awesome. Can"t wait to get started on mine. I would say i"m going to go with a single slp. The gas we got around here ain't the best. lower octane levels than recommended. lol

so, what is the actual cost of putting a big block into an IQ chassis? Lets assume you have a chassis with no motor or are replacing a blown CFI.

Can't say for sure as I did alot of the work...and there is a lot to do. $1500 maybe? I sold the motor that was in it and had a 800 BB out of a 03 laying around with all the wiring. So as I remember, new motor mount plate, new motor mounts, SLP single pipe/twins, had a friend plastic weld up an air box, went to pre-mix, new throttle cable, reworked tach mount area...it was interestesing finding places to mount things. I will be converting to belt drive and light weight parts and pieces this year to see what that does for handling fatigue.
