I have owned two Polaris 900 and both sucked and I now own two M1000s and I would take any M8 over any 900 RMK or RT 1000 any day.

Your info just seems to be random and just stuff that you heard on youtube comments. The 900s were awesome motors that with some investment they are very strong. It is a very noticeable power increase from my dads skidoo 800. Most people do not understand how good the fusions were because they never rode them. You should try one.

Back to topic: I love the power of the big bores. It is a blast on the big trails and it is nice not having to not have it wide open all the time to get the power you need. Maybe they can really develop the 800 because i think that is our only hope. :(

Funny, I have ridden an M7 and an M8 and I thought they both sucked. I rode an M1000 and it is the only one I have even thought about getting to replace my 900 if I had to. Everyone has their own opinions, you don't like them, then don't buy one.

I wont buy a 900 ever again and after 2006 no one was buying a new 900.(2 year bomb)
The cat M8 seems to be a bigger hit then a 900 so if you dont like them dont buy one.
I think 95% of people that had a 900 were happy to get rid of it and the other 5% are on snowest trying to stick up for them.

I've had my 900 since it was new. It has never broke down. When all the other sleds were stuck mine keeps on going. I usually have to break trail for everyone else. Some were good and some were bad. No doubt the M series is a good sled. I just personally though the M8 lacked power and was horribly uncomfortable to ride sitting down. Maybe with a turbo and a better seat I would like it. The M1000 was an amazing sled, but it still needs a taller seat for those rides down the trail at the end of the day.

Well, Cat has shown us their first batch of 2012's, and it seems they dropped the 1000 2stroke, or at least for now. They new big engine is an 1100 4stroke turbo.

stock pro RMK vs stock 900 RMK, the pro is way better. I have work done to my 900 with a 166 and the pro stock is just as good. i would think if u where to gear, cluth, a few bolt ons i think the pro would be a very good ride. A dealer let me take one out for a ride and i was very impressed. I was going to buy one but i think i will wait one more year and trade in the 9 for it.

Who has a stock RMK900? Stock RMK 900 vs almost anything and the stock 900 will lose.

Sad to see the M1000 go away but It will be interesting to test ride the M1100 Turbo next year. An 1100 cc 2 cylinder 4 stoke should be a torque making monster. To bad it is so heavy, going to have to ride one and see. I hear that It is lighter than a Yamaha 4 stroke.

My 900 was stock from the dealer to the truck from the truck to the shed so a tenth of a mile and for those cats they have a long ways to go in the mountains I havent seen even one stay with my grandpas 550 trail rmk up the side of the hill with grandma riding on the back pulling the granchildren in the cat cutter :face-icon-small-coo:face-icon-small-coo

Must be a pretty nice 550 :face-icon-small-ton

I Love my 900!!! My 900 has stock motor mounts and it dosen't vib any worse than the 797 in my IQR. It has NEVER left me stranded, it has 2500 miles on it. I put a new top end in it because of the 05 piston design. I would just love another 9 or a 10 from polaris soon. I wish i had the money to stick a 9 into my IQR, That would be impressive but i just can't justify it at this point. Im going through my 9 this summer, its getting a TM2 or 3 and an attitude turbo. Where i ride you have one way in one way out and if your sled can't cut it then get it outta here. I always show up the boys with the 9 and love it. I take it places i shouldn't be and take it up things i shouldn't be going up. No one knocks my 9 because it has already shown them up. Some people have had bad luck with them and didn't stick with them, thats fine, Come ride with me and ride my 9. Then we'll see what you say! ahahhahahahaha

I think the 2 cylinder design of this new motor is a wise one, theoretically less weight, and being such large displacement cylinders I would expect a lower rpm power curve with alot of torque compared to the 3 and 4 cyl motors. I'm not a 4 stroke fan by any means, but this engine has me a little excited. At least someone stepped up with a boosted stock mountain sled. So with all the talk of Cat starting to produce domestic motors and dropping suzuki, I wonder if this 1100 is theirs, or Suzuki's? I couldn't see an answer to this on their website, but the 2 strokes all appear to be Suzuki still from what I can see.

i know of a few people with stock 9's.

I have a stock 900rmk with an slp air box and thats it great sled 3000miles no problems runs strong and on an avergae day with dragons and m8s it makes the high mark... could be rider or it could just be the torque that everyone raves about with the 900

If it has an SLP airbox than it is not a stock 900
