BHO fires AmeriCorps IG for exposing the fraud in it.

Okey Dokey, Obama plans on firing the inspector general of AmeriCorps (GIVE Act or anti-faith volunteerism) because he's exposing all the fraud in it. He won't state a reason for firing him, which is against the law. But check this out.

"With intervention from Michelle Obama, the Americorps inspector general was given the boot and replaced — for doing his job too well, it seems, and uncovering squandering of funds by favored contributors, educational institutions, and left-wing groups...Neither the president nor deputy White House press secretary Josh Earnest would give details...Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, in a letter to Obama, pointed to a law requiring that Congress be given the reasons an IG is fired. He cited a Senate report saying the requirement is designed to ensure that inspectors general are not removed for political reasons. Grassley said Walpin had identified millions of dollars in AmeriCorps funds that were wasted or misspent and “it appears he has been doing a good job...
I highly recommend that you head over to the Americorps’ inspector general’s report site here. You can find the entire CUNY report here. Let me repeat what the IG found: Waste, duplication, ineffective spending, criminal background check lapses, and repeated violations of the grant rules. And they’re not doing anything about it. Just a snippet from the executive summary:..."

oh, this could be GOOD.
The libs were up in arms because of Bush firing some lawyers, wonder what will happen about this?

Blowbama is sending a clear message....of corruption! If anyone comes after any of his "homey's", he will deal with it!....Look at the black panthers in Philly that were intimidating and threatening voters...all charges dismissed!
One even after he had been convicted!....
The liberals will sweep this under the rug as they always do....
This is why Acorn will not get investigated.....

Interesting that I wrote my two Lefty senators asking for an investigation or accountability in AG Holder's dismissal of the Panther intimidation and I didn't even get a form letter back.

Walpin learned his fate Wednesday night. He was driving to an event in upstate New York when he received a call from Norman Eisen, the Special Counsel to the President for Ethics and Government Reform. "He said, 'Mr. Walpin, the president wants me to tell you that he really appreciates your service, but it's time to move on,'" Walpin recalls. "Eisen said, 'You can either resign, or I'll tell you that we'll have to terminate you.'"

Wow this has made ABC news! Amazing! Of course it's not thorough in it's uncovering of the level and extent of the corruption this man uncovered as reported in other articles.

Senator Grassley wants to "see all materials related to Walpin's performance as Inspector General, his removal, any contacts CNCS had with the United States Attorney’s Office, St. HOPE Academy, Mayor Johnson, the White House, or the First Lady's office."

But if that happens, then whatever will the White House do? Oh yeah, Obama will just say "it's a right-wing conspiracy, none of it's true, it's the Bush administration's fault (or O'Reilly or Beck or Rush or Hannity, etc) and hey, we need to release the terrorist interrogation photos!!!" and America will sigh a sigh of relief and go on with their lives.

The fact it even made the news should be headline news.

I don't think this one is going away.
The Republicans can dig in their teeth on this one.

Fox news is doing a full interview with the guy that was fired.
He is going over all the pertanent parts of the investigation.

wow, Walpin is laying out the evidence and it points directly back to Obama.

Ollie are you talking about Glenn Beck's show? (sorry, didn't mean to "out" you, hehehe) Byron York did an awesome job of explaining the details in an easy to figure out way and then to have Mr. Walpin himself speak was amazing.

Glenn consistently exposes the BS in the media and gvt on both sides as does Rush and O'Reilly. That's why they try to discredit and villify them. The Left doesn't like being exposed for the BSers they are.

Speaking of, I was watching clips of BHO's statements on health care and thinking to myself "what a load of crap" as everyone wildly applauded at BHO's hollow promises. Then on GB last night, Glenn had video clips of Obama a couple of years ago telling everyone that he was going to implement a single payer insurance system. GB also had clips of multiple other left-wing extremists promising to deceive everyone into thinking this massive health care reform was innocent and helpful, when they had an entirely different agenda. Right now I'm trying to find the segment on video so I can post it.

Edit: I posted the above vid in another thread, but here's the interview of Beck with Inspector General Walpin where he explains how he prosecuted Republicans and Democrats alike fairly and he tells what happened.

Update. Now they're trying to make it sound like Walpin is confused and disoriented. The guy seemed perfectly sharp to me on Glenn Beck the other night.

http://michellemalkin.com/2009/06/17/obamas-americrooks-and-cronies-scandal/

"Implying that Walpin has lost his marbles is desperate and lame. Walpin has been consistenly lucid and laser-sharp in every TV and radio interview I’ve seen or heard — including on the Laura Ingraham show yesterday, where he noted that evidence in the Sacramento mayor/NBA star/Obama crony Kevin Johnson case was destroyed.

Far from being “confused” and “disoriented,” Walpin is clear as day. Anyone who actually reads through his audits and investigative reports knows that. You can, should, and must read Walpin’s reports both on CUNY funding abuse and on the Johnson scandal here."

nope, was watching fox and friends at 4:30 in the morning and they were interviewing him.

Mr Walpin is flat out saying Obama fired him to shut him up about his investigation into Obama's friends.

not to worry though. i am sure this will go away like anything else Obamanation does that is illegal or unethical.

If the shoe fits?

A top Republican senator is asking whether First Lady Michelle Obama's office played any role in last week's firing of former service program Inspector General Gerald Walpin.

The concern, one of several surrounding Walpin's sudden dismissal, stems from the timing of a staff switch in the first lady's office. Just days before Walpin got the boot, the White House announced Michelle Obama's chief of staff would be appointed senior adviser to the agency Walpin was responsible for monitoring. Michelle Obama said at the time she and her outgoing staffer, Jackie Norris, would work closely going forward.

With accusations now flying that the Walpin firing was politically motivated, the personnel change only adds to the list of questions Republicans have for the president.

The White House insists the first lady had nothing to do with the firing.

From Ollie's article
"Both inspectors general had investigated sensitive subjects at the time of their firings.

Grassley is now concerned about whether a pattern is emerging in which the independence of the government's top watchdogs -- whose jobs were authorized by Congress to look out for waste, fraud and abuse -- is being put at risk.

The firing drew criticism from Republicans and Democrats, who charged that it violated a new law passed last year to protect the independence of inspectors general by requiring 30 days notice and a full explanation to Congress of the dismissal of any IG."

Thank God Democrats are concerned about this too! I was beginning to think they were all Obamabots.

And Yeah, coming from Chicago????

Thank God Democrats are concerned about this too! I was beginning to think they were all Obamabots.

There are concerns that Obama is losing the blue dog dems. That is one reason he came out and told Palosi and Reid that they had to reign in spending and go to a pay as you go system. Now the fact he instantly ignored that himself is apparently not important.

The Dems as a whole are getting more and more worried about the 2010 election and may start defecting if the public opinions continue to move to the republicans when it comes to the economy and the deficit.

You bring up the 2010 elections. I have suspicion and trust problems with all politicians and think that if they are motivated to change for their constituents just to get re-elected, how do we know if they're not going to do whatever the heck they want after they get re-elected? (thus the reason for looking at their past voting record and not trusting what they say)

My Lefty Lib Senator Max Baucus runs as a conservative (says what we want to hear) every sixth year (his re-election year) and completely ignores his constituents the other five years. So as far as I'm concerned he's out, but we have to wait another five years. By then most will have forgotten, and when he runs a conservative centrist campaign, everyone will hear what they want and vote him in another six years.

ARGHHHHHH!

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 33% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-four percent (34%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -1. Today is the second straight day the President’s rating has been below zero :face-icon-small-win
