Anybody have experience or opinions on these tires in a 255/85r16 on a GMC 2500HD Duramax crew. Wondering how they would wear and about ice, hard pack snow performance.

A guy i work with says his were great on our first snow storm hear back in oct. And it was really icy. His were on a dodge Cummings and they were 37s. But i think you might be better off with something more like the goodyear duratracs, they almost look like a mud terrain but they have the snowflake rating, and there are some good reviews on them. I just ordered a set should have them on by the first part of next week. Do you need an all out mud terrain? Or just want it for the looks, if you are going more for the aggresive looks the duratracs do look pretty aggresive, i just think an all out mud tire isn't always the best if used in the winter.

No dont really need a true mudder, just like looks and the better bite in deeper snow and dirt. Have had several sets of the old BFG M/T and some BFG A/T but the A/T wont clean out in anything deep. thought about toyo too.

i bought goodyear duratracs, i need a good aggressive winter tire as i run low pro tires in the summer. i just finished driving the worst conditions in my life. glare ice roads with water on top cause it was raining, then had to drive though nearly 2 feet of windblown snow down my driveway. very impressive worked quite well. these tires could be alot more expensive and i would still buy them. I will be running the duratracs for many many winters to come. mine were also not studded can;t even imagine how much better they are with studs.

I got a buddy that runs bfg mudders and they a louder tire but they are very hard and wear great. I run Toyo M/T on my ford diesel and love em and during the winter i run Cooper STT which i believe are a little softer but they are about the same tread as the toyos. I hope this helps and look at the Geolander if you want a all around all terrain.
