Don't take this the wrong way, but we have been seeing this a ton. Thats why we encourage people not to use Ebay or Craigslist etc. If it's a deal you are looking for, source out some year old or closeout product from a reputable company. For a 105.00 it is too good to be true anyhow. Klim has a very strict MAP policy in place and prides themselves in the cost of their gear. Holding dealers to this pricing keeps value to the product and that keeps us all accountable. It is no good people like this that give us dealers bad names. i am constantly having people try and get us to price match on Ebay and we just cannot do that. So many of the people are just out for a quick scoundrel buck.

this was a private seller

who listed a pair of used Klimate bibs with a no reserve auction, started them at $75. auction ended I was high bidder at $105. I paid for them and he refused to ship them. said they were unavailable for sale. then relisted them for $250 a week later.

Well since you are a dealer and profit from full price sales you aren't exactly an impartial observer. I see "too good to be true" transactions all day long on Ebay that are completed successfully. I have been selling closeouts, last years models and stock from stores that have gone out of business for 10 years on Ebay, most of which are 50% off retail, and both me and my customers are happy as can be. And how exactly does the 2% or so of questionable sellers on Ebay, "give us dealers bad names"? These type of people have nothing to do with the reputations of honest dealers. There are dishonest vendors in every market and on every platform.

I understand that it might be frustrating having to compete against the discounts that sellers on Ebay offer, but throwing out uninformed and emotional opinions, not based on fact, isn't the way to deal with it.

Did you pay through PayPal? If you did, you should have buyer protection. I buy and sale on EBay all the time and have never had any trouble. Just make sure you always pay for items through PayPal. Hope this helps.

Relationship between eBay Buyer Protection and other resolution methods (PayPal Buyer Protection, protection programs offered by other payment providers, and credit card/debit card chargebacks)
The eBay resolution process is the primary avenue for settling issues with on-eBay transactions. However, buyers will still have the option to continue with the PayPal system instead, or to file a chargeback if they paid using a credit card. Once a buyer selects a system (eBay, PayPal, another payment provider, or chargeback) they are required to use that system for the duration of the case.

Here are the basic principles behind how eBay manages the resolution process between eBay, PayPal, and chargebacks:
  • eBay Buyer Protection is the primary program for settling issues with eBay transactions
  • No double consequences for sellers, and no double refunds for buyers
  • Chargebacks override all other disputes

PayPal Buyer Protection
Buyers who make a purchase on eBay.com using PayPal may still file a claim using PayPal Buyer Protection. If a buyer chooses to resolve the claim through PayPal, then the eBay Buyer Protection Policy will not apply (instead, PayPal Buyer Protection will apply). If resolution on a case is reached by eBay, then PayPal will close future claims regarding the same transaction that are made through PayPal Buyer Protection.

Chargebacks
Chargebacks filed on an eBay transaction will close all cases opened with eBay or PayPal.
If a seller loses a chargeback after they reimburse eBay for an eBay Buyer Protection seller unresolved case, they may appeal the eBay Buyer Protection decision by providing evidence of the lost chargeback through the eBay Resolution Center within 45 days of when the chargeback was filed. If the appeal is resolved in the seller's favor, the seller will be refunded the reimbursement amount.
Buyers who file a chargeback after receiving a refund are abusing eBay Buyer Protection and may be subject to consequences outlined in the Abusing eBay section of the User Agreement.

Well since you are one of those guys that sells on ebay, I would say that you are impartial as well.

I sent him a message and let him have it! I have been screwed on ebay for other things as well.
