Best year for the REV

Okay, I know that there are a lot of threads about this already, but i don't know the best way to look for them without it taking hours. So what is everybody's opinions on the best year for the REV sleds. I've heard 06 was the best and to stay as far away as possible from an 07. Just wondering if there's any truth to that.

Thanks

I love my 06! I didn't want any 07s because of the engine issues and the 08s also had multiple issues that I wanted to distance myself from. 06 seemed like the best choice. Could have bought a 09 but didn't want to spend the $.

Okay. That helps a lot because i'm going to buy a new sled next year and i think i'm going to go to the REV chassis, and was just wanted to try and get a good sled for my money. I don't like having to worry about it breaking down when i'm 14 hours from home...

Thanks

Take this any way you want, but in my opinion (and I'm a Polaris guy), the best Rev is the '06, period. In 2006, that was the best out-of-the-box mountain sled on the market, bar none. Really makes me wonder why Doo screwed up the '07's so bad when they already had a homerun in the '06.

06 was a good year...

Now that Ive got my 07 tuned, I wouldnt trade it for any year rev...or xp.

The only real problem that plagued the 06's was the chains. They had some issues...

Yep :D

I will vote for 07. :( After you completed the following, obtain a new motor, clutch it with supertorquer center roller arms and last but not least enjoy buying oil by the case month after month.

I agree with the above 06 sleds just flat out worked out of the box. 07 bugs put a bit of fear in this loyal SKI-DOO owner but BRP customer service really kept me happy and loyal. If I had it to do all over again I would have maybe pulled the trigger in 06 versus 07, but now I just love my XRS after all of the above were completed. :D

06 was the best year for sure.. but my 08 is set up and has about 1000 miles and haven't had a single problem with it.. my belt has 400 miles on it to.. still looks great..

Exactly....once the bugs have been worked out it is an absolute dream of a sled.....I wouldn't trade my 07' for any sled out there Doo, Poo, AC, or Yamamamaha!

The 06's were good, but you ride it back to back with a tuned 07 and you won't be singing the same song. The extra 10-15 hp is noticeable.

Yeah right!

I had them all 05, a 07 xrs and my Buddy has an o6 all were tuned spot on and they don't even touch my 09! The weight lost and the new clutching is just amazing!

Ditto on both...the 07, once the bugs have been worked out is noticably stronger then the 06. Haven't riden with any 09's but the 07 will handle any 08 thrown at it.

DONT BUY A SKI DOO THEN IF YOUR LOOKING FOR RELIABILITY .
i HAVE AN 08' XP BEEN IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES THIS MONTH ...
i PUT 1800 MILES ON A FULLY TRICKED OUT 07' RMK 600 LAST YEAR NEVER HAD ONE PROBLEM AND NEVER ONCE HAD TO CHANGE A BELT .
AND WHEN i SAY FULLY TRICKED i MEANT IT , IT HAS ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU COULD DO BESIDES A TURBO .... AND i DARE SAY THIS THING WAS JUS AS FAST OR FASTER THEN MY XP !

You do realize they are not selling these sleds at the dealer anymore dont you? I mean I know you can keep your eye out for the exact sled to include model year, but chances are you may have to buy what is available. IMO all of the revs were good sleds and all of them could blow a crank after 2000mi. I would worry more about low miles and overall condition than year. If you dont want to drop the cash for a new sled and your set on the rev look for a good deal on a low mileage sled.

I have my '07 for sale, it has the '08 engine (the good one) and the sled is flawless.....best year REV IMO, same chassis as earlier but more power. I have addressed the clutch issues and this sled is awesome! :beer;:)
