I have the fix kit on it's way and I'm wondering who can tell me the best way to get the coolent out without making a huge mess. Im sure there is a million ways and tricks to getting it out. Would appreciate if you would share a few.

Thanks,
Tony

Crack the hose thermostat hose and suck the coolant out with a shop-vac. Ultimate coolant removal system. It will literally suck every drop out.

If you have a very clean shop-vac, you can reuse the coolant.

Draining the system is virtually impossible... I just did an 08 and you can take the top radiator lose and push a siphon hose clear down to the cooler and siphon. But even doing that it still had a bunch of antifreeze in the motor that didn't come out. I lifted the head, then sucked out all I could and when I lifted the cylinders still spilled a pint or so...

I just used a big syringe to suck it out of the bottomend at that point and some rags to clean it up off the floor. :)

Like the others above, a shopvac is the way to go. The only difference is I remove the hose out of the bottom of the coolant bottle and draw the coolant out of the lower hose.
