Best way to get to Steamboat Lake

Coming out from MN next weekend. Just wondering what the best route to take is, were staying at Dutch Creek Guest Ranch. Better to go into Laramie, WY then head south or go to Denver and up from there? Time is not a huge issue just not sure what the roads are like out there. Thanks guys.

Rode from laramie is good if it not windy. Should be a little shorter than through denver. I-70 traffic sucks if you come up on a weekend am with all the skiers (so I've been told).

We always go through Laramie, great roads, so far knock on wood we have not been caught by the wind, generally drive through the night on the way out, lots of wild life.

drive from steamboat to mn alot and always take the laramie route. about 2 hrs. from laramie to steamboat.
