so im planning a trip to go ride with chris burandt. trying to decide when i should go. any thoughts?? i lived in avon, co 2 winters ago and prolly our best snow month that winter was december. end of march we got a **** load too.

thanks!

levi

i've been there in end of december, end of march, and early april. all 3 were excellent snow conditions. so basically anytime in winter is a good time to go. don't be surprised if you're completely out of breath after the first 2 hours of riding either, that's normal.

i have ridden wolf creek pass the last 2 years around christmas and the snow was great both years we ride wolf creek and buena vista early in the year and snowy range late

Mid Febuary. Enough good base so virtually everthing is covered yet temps keep the powder nice and light.

4th of July weekend!

Honestly, it is hit and miss. Sometimes January is great, other years it is not great. I'm sure if you go and ride with Chris you will have fun not matter what.

If your going to the Ears... You will have good snow pretty much a guarantee!!!:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

Wait till after the first of the year for a good base and good storms rolling thru. Be flexible on both timing and location and follow the freshness.

Last season was awesome!!!! Not sure on how often or where you ride EP5x but it wasn't at the right time or the right place for sure.:face-icon-small-sho

### Yep !! You hit it right. Last year our schedule wasn't flexible and every trip we had planned we missed the fresh stuff. When you live out of state and you have to make plans for your trips in advance being flexible goes out the window. I really wish I lived closer so I could scope out the weather to plan our trips. You local cats have the advantage for sure >>>>.

That would be tough..guess you gotta take what you can get in that situation.

But don't blame the season!!!:face-icon-small-coo

Almost every year we have an epic snowstorm in January. We always have a big spring snow storm as well. It's just hard to say when they will hit.
