need to put a new tether on both my t-apex and my polaris 700......had a tether on them both, not sure what type, had the circular rubber piece that fits over a mount on the sled, the rubber piece pushes in a white button thing that keeps the circuit open and the sled running, when its pulled off the circuit breaks and the sled dies, but the rubber nub that holds that "button" down wears out real easily...... any suggestions ??? was looking at a billet tether at a dealership today that used a cotter pin instead of a rubber piece, looked pretty damn sturdy, it mounted to the handle bar to instead of drilling it into the plastic like the other one i had.....expensive ($115/tether) but if it works its worth it. anyone else have any that have worked really well for them ?

the one i was looking at was a pingel i think it was called......what happens when the teth air battery dies if you forget to replace it ? im kinda a fan of old fashioned cord....

yeah i have one of the red ones on that page (for a yamaha) and it is a POS, the little rub nub inside that holds the button down wears out really fast, then the button keeps coming up enough to make the sled cut out. i think ill prob go with a pingel, afraid a teth-air might screw up, chords are simple.

I had the same problem with the nub wearing, so I screwed a smaller button head screw through the nub and never had a problem... worth a try if you can't find anything better..

I have used the rubber cap (OEM now-a-days) and the bar mount (one in the middle in the link below). I prefer the bar mount>

I have had good luck with the Polaris rubber cap style. I think instead of pulling the cap off each time you are off the sled, they will last longer if you actually unhook the tether from you.

I have a Pingle, I dont like it, it freezes sometimes and has to be thawed to get the sled to start. I have seen the cotter key not pull many times. Broken cords, stretched cords, etc.

I have a Pingle, Looks great but really not that great, freezes like mentioned above, key comes out but the hammer doesn't drop and sled stays running.

Ask that question in the turbo yammy section or on TY. The tether works very well and stops a mess when you tip a 4 stroke over.(Trust me, I've done it a lot!!)
