best sled cover ?

who makes the best sled cover for a nytro with taller bars and a longer tunnel ? i've always trailerd my sleds around and have never needed a cover so i have no idea on whos are good and whos shred on the second trip out ?
any help would be awsome :beer;

Get a Polaris IQ cover...they are long, tall, and made of a nylon type of material instead of canvas. They're a little spendy...about $200 US, but well worth it IMO.

you will have to check with some people as far as fit.. but i used the skinz cover last year on my Tapex w/174.. :D.. very very nice and completly waterproof.. great investment IMO

I personally didn't have good luck with mine. It ripped the first trip to Montana and the sucker was an absolute ***** to put on. The good news is Skins warrantied it and I got a new one, but I did sell it - not going that route again.

I'm back to the ole yammie cover off ebay for $100.

I personally dont see how this happened.. unless in was damaged.. mine was crazy hard to put on the first time..the material is extremely stretchy.. maybe you had a rub on something sharp..when my was tight.. I talked with sled solutions.. said put the cover on in the garage and leave it on for a few days.. after that it was still alittle tight but fit great..

Damage usually comes from not following the instructions. I know it's a cover BUT it's a different cover so reading the directions will insure you install the cover properly.

Sno-skinz. Not to be confused with the other company. Call Ron. We have purchased a bunch for all types of sleds. Not one has ripped or had a warranty issue. Great cover.

I second that I had a 10 year old cover That started to fray just a little bit sent it in and just got it back in the mail tuesday no charge Ron backs his products

I know whats NOT the best. Factory Yamaha one, thats what. Who designed this thing? Velcro fasteners around the a-arms? DRRR! That reminds me, I need to take this thing to the seamstress and get some nice buckles or something put in. Cause now that I'm stuck with it, I'm sure not buying a new one.

But not waterproof or flap proof.[/QUOTE
And that is your opinion. I have not a had an issue with flapping on three different brands of sleds with 6 different models. And the last thing I want it to be for traveling, is waterproof. Moisture gets up under any cover while moving down the road in rain or snow. When I park for the night, I want the moisture to drain out as much as possible and when I put the cover with snow on the sled I would like it to melt off as much as possible before it freezes if it is below freezing temps. Just my personal opinion.

Higher priced doesn't mean best value in a cover!

But not waterproof or flap proof.

"Sno-Skinz" covers are made from a water proof 600 D Polyester Plus and
600 D Polyester Ripstop fabric for durability. If properly installed, there will be no "flapping" due to the "floating side strap" design.

Sno-Skinz is not the most expensive, nor will one or two sizes will fit all sleds. "Lycra" fabric is NOT used because it will not last in the harsh environment a snowmobile cover is subject to.

A Sno-Skinz cover is designed to fit each make and model of sled, they are made from materials that will last and come with the best warranty you will find in a cover.

No, not a "Cadilac", just an excellent value that is hard to beat! Thanks to our long time and repeat customers, Sno-Skinz covers have been around for 13 years. :p

After I put the cover on and let it sit in the garage for 2 months, we drove from Minnesota to Montana. About half way out we stopped for gas and I noticed the fabric where the buckle attaches to the lycra was ripped and we also had rips on another cover where the lycra and other material meet. We followed the directions that came with it. We made sure to have it very tight so the buckles damn near touch under the belly pan.

I thought I would never buy a cover again after I got the skins one. Technically, I didn't have to, but for 200 bucks, but I expected more.

Like I said, their warranty was great, but for me personally, I don't feel like the cover is worth 200 bucks.

Just my .02

Yeah! Whose idea was that stupid thing anyway? I had my wife take the velcro off and sew on some nylon straps and some buckles. Still not the greatest it but does work much easier now. Much cheaper than buying a whole new cover.

thanks guys for the replies . i do have a covered trailer but im not using it this winter . so far im leaning towords the skinz cover has any one else used an OEM delux cover though ?

There is really no difference between the deluxe cover and the regular one except the deluxe one is more colourful and includes an undercover protector that covers the hood and handlebars. It's nice but not worth the extra money IMO. I have one and am not impressed. Like I said in my other post I had my wife make some sewing alterations to it and it's a little better but it still isn't great. I just don't want to drop another 200 on a new one.

Yep, Yep.... Let me know when you want to do this... maybe get a cheaper rate if we get both of them done...
