I just bought an 07 m8 162.. I just bought some fox floats for the front And im going to run the stock rear skid. Im around 240lb with my gear.What should i set my front floats pressure at? and what should i do with the rear skid? i have read about mods for the stock skid but not really any instructions on how to do any of them? any help would be great! i also just installed a power claw!!

you may want to try it with the zero pro's first then try the floats, you may be surprised which ones work A LOT better...

89Sandman..
For the fronts or the rears? I bought the floats for the front to lose some weight off the front. Does anybody have some sugestions on how to set up the rear?

other than the weight I thought the 07 handle the best over all, and I don't care for the floats, the valving sucks. on a standard 07 I run the front springs pretty soft but firm enough to hold up the front, in the rear the front shock I put just enough to it to hold the sled up by itself, you want it pretty soft, to firm will make it trench, and to soft will cause the track to wash out when sidehilling the rear springs I put on the middle setting. You can change the way the skid transfer to get more ski lift, but truthfully I think its just for pulling wheelies, the 07 skid keeps the front down and I out climbed all the 08's i ran with and on a rough trail I could run twice as fast through the bumps without the rear skid bottoming out.

Front end floats: You'll have to find what you like best between 55-65lbs of pressure.

Front skid shock: Wyoboy's setup should work great. Just enough preload to hold you and the sled up. About a 1 inch of threads below the lock nut.

Rear springs: Wyoboy's setup again. Middle position on the adjuster. Stand on the boards and move around just a bit, bounce just a bit not allot. You should have 1-2 inches of sag when you stand on the sled, then slip off the side of the sled and watch the rear bumper rise up about 2 inches. And your good to go!:beer;

Fine tune all of the above when you get out on the snow and enjoy!:D

Ive herd about moving the rear arm down to the bottom hole on the drop bracket is this also somthing to look at?

wow

that means my 07 m1000 that i just bought is way out i weigh 210 and it is not at points where you guys are talking.(it does have a 174 )its on bottom hole way to much pressure on this one .i respect what wyoboy has to say .i'll have to take some serious measurements and get back . my kk skid does look the same though maybe just rails eh!

My recommendations should get you real close but may need adjustment as acmntcat said set to these then adjust.

07 M8 skid

I have a standard 162 and the best thing to do in my opinion is to send your rear shock to Andy Youngstom and have him revalve it. It made a whole different animal out of mine, enough that my wife when we hit the trail is always taking mine away. If you need Andys # just let me know and I'll get it for you.

PM me the # please. I had it, but lost it. Thanks.

Hey guys

Can a person use nitrogen in the floats insted of air? would this be better?

Getting ready to start setting up my new to me sled. 07' M8 162" with Powerclaw. I'm going to send my shocks in to Andy Youngstrom for the revalve as stated above. Any setup tips for a 200 lb rider? The guy I bought my sled from was a little lighter than me. (180-185 ish) Seems like it's setup really stiff. Does not even budge when I stand on the running boards and move side to side. Is this normal for this sled?
