Hi, As a group over the years we have gone off trail riding in Idaho, West Yellowstone and the last 10 years in the Cooke City area. Would just like to have a change and go to The Big Horns. Can some of you help me out with the best area for off trail riding. We always go the third week of February. We like to stay at a lodge that has food etc and ride in and ride out abilities. We like to stay at Bear Lodge and ride right from here. The snow was best south and west of the lodge this year when I was there. Usually a fun time up here because of so much wide open country. Point in a direction and go

I agree on staying at Bear Lodge. The snow I thought was really good south and west of the lodge. It was shoulder deep in a lot of places. Every year is different. Love the Big Horns.
Our group will be out in the Big Horns Jan 1st 19'. Hows the current base? Looks like a foot or so in most spots.
