best OEM mtn suspension to put in older sled

I have a 2001 summit and thinking of buying a used take out rear suspension. I would like a better ride and deep snow performance. I had a chance for a 2008 xp rear for $200 but didn't jump on it and it sold. but what about a cat yam or poo?
I don't have much to spend but would like to do something. and tunnel mods are fine.
151" to 163"
I just think if i put in a $2000 rear suspension and some motor mods i would just buy a new sled. I dont ride much but i have lots of time to tinker.

IMO, most new suspensions are pretty good and pretty even, when compared to your 02 suspension.

Since you have an older sled, I would go with the one that is easiest to install into your sled / tunnel.

I think you can have 16" tracks on that sled? You will have to use spaces to fit an AC skid as they use narrower tunnels. I think the same with the newer Polaris skids. Yamaha tunnels are 16" wide, but most of them before 2010 were really really heavy..

Keep you eye out for aftermarket skids that will fit your sled as well.

Just some thoughts.
