I have an 08 M8 SP 153, still running the stock cat skis. What is the best all around ski for the hills for most conditions? I boondock a lot. I have heard the Cat ski is terrible and I have heard they are great (I can't compare because I have only been on the stockers)- so tell me what are you running and how do you like them? Thanks in advance.

I've used the stock cat and switched to powder pro a huge differance, is very aggressive great for powder will give you a work out on hard pack, haven't tryed the simmons but have heard the gen 2 is a good ski

Simmons are miles ahead of the competition, best ride and awsome for boondocking, sidehilling.

I used to say the same thing until Mike Ode from Sicamous sent me a set of MODS SKIS.
They sat in my garage for over 2 months, he kept phoning asking if I "had tried them" Finally just to get him to quit calling I tried them. They are by far the best mountian ski I have ever ridden on and I was a Simmons guy to the core. They work fantastic on M sleds, Dragons and Rev's. I've never ridden a Yamaha with them on.

So to those out there who are "open minded" I would suggest you try the MODS.:beer; www.modsskis.com

I have heard the same about the mods skis. I just can't get past how they look. I am running the Powder pros with about 1/8"-3/16" toe out on my 07 m8. I have ridden the Simmons, SLT's, and SlyDogs. The Simmons push really bad in the soft stuff, the SLT's are good just not as aggressive as I like, and the Slydogs work very well.

Gen 2 is better than Gen 1, Simmons would NOT update anything unless it is of better design & Quality. Try em before u knock em...:)

Is it me or do the mods skis look an awful lot like the old Elkholm (sp) skis? I had a set of the first generation ones on my old phazer and loved them on that sled.

MODS.....By FAR better than Simmons. I rode with Simmons for alot of years on alot of different machines. The Mods are great to sidehill and carve. Real decent on the trails. I also ran Echolm skis and they really have nothing in common! I think the Mods just are not marketed as hard as the other manufacturers or you would see alot more of them around.

I Put Powder Pros on My M8, waaay better than the stockers IMO. I also tried SLT's and like the Pro's better, they are just more aggresive. Another bonus is they don't steer neerly as hard on the M-chassis as they did coming of from an edge rmk chassis.
