What is the Best Method for heating up the Locktite Arctic Cat used on their spiders, I have heard bad stories of destroying the spider from improper methods. Please post comments from experienced people.

propane torch, just heat the spider up quick and and take it off before the heat sinks through and the shaft gets hot to, aluminum expands fast but it also transfer heat fast

RickM heat it till the locktite starts to smoke, if you have a heat gun thats 300-350 deg. You must make sure it is hot enough before you try to move it or you will tear threads. Once it starts moving get it off quick to prevent it cooling and tearing threads again.

I hit it with a mapp gas torch for about 20 seconds, I think you don't want to put too much heat to it your you'll melt the o-rings on the cross bolt.
