Best M1000 piston??

Wiseco SK1373 M1000 top end Kit, May as well do both. I have not used wiseco on my M1000 but I would. I used them on my 2001 MC1000 after a skirt let go. I never had a problem with them, I was told they are tougher as far as cracking and skirts go but I was also told to make sure the engine is nice and warm before I let it loose as they are prone to cold sezures because the forged piston and the stock cylinder expand at different rates. I believe thier 2450M09030 individual pistions come with a pin, retainer clips and rings for 124.99, Their Kit comes with everything, gaskets, o-rings, pin, retainer clips, rings, pistons for $394.41, thats all according to their website. http://www.wiseco.com/Catalogs/Snowmobile/ArcticCat.pdf

Well, looking at www.catbargains.com, it would be cheaper using all stock stuff, or if you wanted to use the wiseco pistions it would be cheaper getting the individual pistons rather then the kit because for one you wouldn't need to replace all the orings and gaskets the kit comes with unless you wanted to and for two getting all the orings and gaskets from catbargains would be about $50 cheaper.

Most aftermarket pistons are forged. Cast piston have the best life expectancy, best cold seizure resistance. And the best skirt strength. Aftermarket pistons in the M1000 are a bad idea.

thanks for the input! this is the 2nd of our M1000s that have had piston failure, both on the mag side, skirt cracked, luckily we caught this one and it wont be as expensive as the other!
