Best inter mountain towns to "set up camp"

.....and houseboat central in the summer so lots of sluts

I've survived 2 of those trips now....way too much fun. No doubt years have been shaved off the end of my life....

OP you looking Canada or the States? Or either one?

Either, probably leaning more towards the states unless you guys can convince me otherwise

no convincing needed...its you that will be missing out on the best choice in the world...research on your part will prove to you that British Columbia is the best place in the world for the sledding that you want to do..

I've heard people say Bozeman is awesome, and I've head people say it isn't all it's cracked up to be.. So, what's the real story with Bozeman?

Whatever story you hear about any place is just that "a story". If you want to know what its really like, you have to "live" it for yourself.

I've been to most of the places listed in this post, all of them had good people and came with good times. If your not in a hurry to set roots, try them all. If you can swing a hammer or run a shovel, you will make ends meet.

IMHO as far as the Bozeman area goes, most riders/sportsman could spend years here and not get bored.

Wait a minute here, I don't know who you have been talking too but they are wrong!!! Bozeman is a decent sized Montana college town with a small skiing, snowmobiling, hunting and drinking problem but if you can get past that you will love it :face-icon-small-win.

In all seriousness though the Bozeman/Big Sky area is pretty much amazing most people that visit the area fall in love as soon as they see it. South of Bozeman towards Big Sky and West Yellowstone is where most of the riding is. The job opportunity is pretty good so I personally think if you came this way you would not be disappointed.

Good luck with you decision!

Wow wow wow, whats all this talk about Bozeman?? Don't listen to them, Bozeman never snows, Trails are always long and bumpy, bar scene is lame, no good looking girls and pretty much overall terrible...
Check out Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho or Utah. Those are going to be your best bets man, Trust me...

agree w/ all the above. and maybe you should check out Jackson or Alpine, WY. Good Luck.

job opportunity in the just came up last night in utah section working in heber Utah. very good outdoor opportunities there...

If it were me I would be online and on the phone with people trying to line up a job. I would feel a lot more secure moving somewhere knowing I have a little work to keep me afloat for a while. Ski season is just getting under way might be a good place to start.

I moved west 27 years ago and have loved every minute of it, give it a shot if you're a true sledhead you won't regret it. Having a great mountain 20 minutes from the house is like having a dream come true. 50 to 60 rides a year and 11,000' closer to god is where it's at.

Jobs to look for:

Hospital electrician helper, plumber helper dirty but good pay mostly, buff out cars, paint,. I know a REAL piano mover that makes $100,000+/year. He has a box van, ramp, and a W E B page(must have) instant business. But that is in Dallas. Might not be that many pianos where you are. Clean out peoples garages and later sell it, need truck and storage. Window tint. Sell insulated windows for houses, siding too, paint. More if needed.
