Best Gas

Holiday, Tesoro or Chevron. (my sled seems to run better when i put Holiday in..dont ask why)

I will never get gas at Carrs again!

I usually gas up at Holiday, but Im starting to get really fing annoyed by those little boxes that talk while you pump your gas.

hahaha yeah man! thank goodness theres that mute bottom! :D

hey did you know 2 sandwiches for $3! lol

Chevron only. I was told they're one of the best. I was also told Tesore is one of the worst.

Cheveron only for my truck and sled. Filled a whole tank with carrs gas and had to leave my truck in the pvill parking lot for 2 days in the middle of the week because my gas lines were frozen.

Save Gas, Fart in a Jar

Taco King or La Mex for race gas, Taco Bell for regular.

hahahah thats a good one!

Blend mine with Alaska Drag Bike 20% (Trick) and high octane from stations with new tanks or tanks with high turnover rates for "new fuel". The high compression heads on my 800 mod seem to really light up with higher octane gas from ADB. My friends are puzzled by the fact I ask them to give me gas money if they want to ride my sled.......crash the thing all you want....parts are replaceable:cool:

Flame Speed and Explosive Compression is a beautiful thing.

Chevron or Shell only for me. After one year of putting holiday and carrs in my old truck my fuel pump went out.

I prefer Chevron for diesel in the truck for sure ~ and I do notice better performance with the sleds using Chevron also ... granted Freddy's and Carrs is cheaper - but is it really if you get worse performance and way worse fuel economy

If you didn't know, all of Alaska's gas comes from two sources. The North Pole Refinerey (Flint Hills - Holiday) and the Tesoro Refinery in Nikiski. The only difference between all of the brands lies in the additives.

Gas is supplied to anchorage via tank farms located at the Flint Hills and Tesoro tanks farms at the port of Anchorage. The additive is then mixed with the gas at the pump where the tanker is filled.

Which additive / brand is the best? That is a matter of personal preference, history, and famailaiarity with a particular brand. I would assume that Carrs /Fred Meyer do not have a particular additive of their own. In the past I have used both Carrs and Fred Meyer Diesel and haev experienced lower gas milage.

In the end, it all boils down to the old saying, "You get what you pay for.":)

Stay with "Top Tier" gas if you want better additives (Google top tier gas for more info). Like was stated before, gas is gas it all comes from the same place. However brands like Cheveron, Texaco and Shell use great additives, Tesoro, Holiday, Carrs, Freddies, etc are just selling plain gas for the same price. Get more for your money and buy Top Tier gasoline!

thats a good point but, if my sled runs better using a non top tier gas, im gonna stick with it.
