Best design of a snow blanket

Looking to make a new snow blanket. I want to be able to access the oil plug easier. yz450f. The poly skid plate is a pain with the blanket and currently I have it over the kick and pegs making it hard to put on and off. Thinking 2 parts and something easier to remove for access to plug. Anyone have a good design? I can use the material I have and I could use some thin plastic (crazy carpet plastic). Thanx

I used to use fire blanket, cut a hole where the exhaust comes out of the cylinder and wrap around each side from there. I just poked little holes through it to run zip ties to mount points, not the prettiest I’ll admit but I used it that way for several years, then I bought the Drifters brand snow jacket for a 4-stroke and made it work on my 300 with minimal trimming, but it melts on my exhaust, where my fire blanket never did. I have the bottom of the engine fully exposed, so easy to change engine oil, but I do need to make a skid plate for it. I have a hole cut for my oil fill and one for my kick starter.

kayaker, just something to consider. If you insulate the case/engine enough oil temps can rise to over 250f. I have had oil temp gauges on two different bikes for several years. I was surprised how hot the oil can get on a trail with no snow dust when the case is well protected/insulated, little air exposure. One a warmer no snow trail ride I would see 250 and above. just jumping in snow would cool down oil even with thin insulating blanket. In the least bit of snow oil temps drop quickly. I wish I could remember the name of the material I used but heat resistant and about as thick as a shop paper towel. Hot oil is better to about 260 and above. In the snow its hard to get oil above 150. fwiw.
