Best deep snow suspension???

Ok, I have a m10 now and while it does a great job keeping the skis down (really too good at times) I do not have the biggest nads in the world, so climbing the super steep does not seem to be in the cards for me. That being said, would I be better off with a different suspension? Seems this m10 likes to put a pretty deep trench everywhere I go, and when stuck and the suspension unloaded seems like China isn't too far away.

I like the ride obviously, and don't want to sacrifice too much of that if possible.

Lets hear some opinions.

The timbersled is lighter than the M10 and I've loved how it handles so far. Plus you can set it up with a couple of shims to control ski lift.

I'm pretty sure that when you get stuck with any aftermarket skid its going to dig you to china..lol
 
I really loved my kmod, will be buying one for my new sled this year. Not to mention the price is not that bad.

I bought a sled with the E-Z Ride. It is incredible. I never trench and I am almost 300 LBS. It just gets on top of the snow and keeps going.
 
there are a number of very good skids out there. many of the ones mentioned above. i'd also add the holz alpha, actually i think this is the best one out but that's just me. the one thing you need to keep in mind is all the other skids besides the m10 will not and can not handle huge HP. even holz will tell you they don't recommend their skid with sleds with much over 200 hp. the high hp just goes through the skid and you end up wheelie-ing all the time. may look cool but is not very functional. i know the other skids mentioned, timber, k-mod, e-z, have the same issue. the m-10 is the only one that can handle big boost. good luck

Sold my M10 years ago and I dont regret it. Just could not get it to transfer well.

Interesting. Did you do much in terms of adjustments? I know with all 2-stroke n/a sleds we take out the spacer on the front shock and install a longer spring. The front of the skid actually collapses and works much much better. With the newer Yammi's that have them and guys wanting zero ski lift, leave that spacer/collar in the skid. But to each their own, M-10's are a great skid, heavier than most, but good.

I'd venture that the Holz works great in deep snow although I haven't found a skid that floats a sled better than mine, unfortunately they don't make em anymore. Works great and light enough, but more problems than most.

I'm not sure about that, I've seen plenty of turbo 2 strokes that run the timbersled and they are fine. I think its all in the setup of the skid.
 
I run a Holz on my D-8 Turbo and it is the best powder skid I have ever had, but I have also seen a lot of E-Z and Timbersleds on Turbo rigs doing very well in the powder, the set-up is the most critical by far, Holz is easy for me to set up and easy to change if conditions change, just wait until I flop over and add or subtract air.
 
Well then........ all the new skids out there, as listed above, use the track as the "bump stop" am i wrong? the M10 design never has the track get that tight when your climbing over powder rollers. When you hit that "oh crap" hole on the other side the track gets ZING tight and you loose track speed. My M10 walks right through where those boys get buried.
