whats nthe best chaincase oil to use besides the brp stuff. $70 a litre brp can go f them selfs thats ridiculus, makes me want to put a belt drive on even more

I run the Polaris synthetic chain case oil in my Doo....way cheaper than the Doo stuff. Its the same weight of oil as the Ski Doo stuff, heck it probably comes from the same barrel!

Really anything wet and slippery works fine as long as it is changed often enough. For the last 15 years I'v used 75w-90 synthetic gear oil. If it works in my Dodge when its -42c it will in the sled when its -15c. It never burns or even really gets dirty. I have heard of some running ATF, 10w-30 with no problems. Chaincase oil looks and smells like gear oil to me and notice how they never give you a viscosity of it.

Theres nothing but a chain and bearing and any oil will work.Go cheap and change often

i do know that u need it to be thin enough that it wont add resistance but thick enough that the chain will pull it to the top gear for max lube, i think anyhow could be wrong

I used to run 75/90 mobile one gear lube. last year and so far this year I have gen runing synthetic atf. figured the synthetic atf would be thiner and have less rolling resistance. I change the oil or atf alteast once a year and usually several times a year.
it is a chain in a bath of atf. that is a heck of alot better lubrication then the chain on my drag bikes and street bikes. they just get a little lube sprayed on the chain once in awhile.
