Who has the best back country jacket or outer shell ??
Like Klim but so much new stuff can not tell what would be good
I like the A/C pullover that I currently have and use but am looking for an update ?

If you want the BEST sled specific gear experience ... skip the jacket and go one-piece suit. I have a Scott one-zie, which is a nice piece. But the Klim and TOBE are both very nice as well. Try them all if possible, as they all fit a little different. I have never had luck with the fit of Motorfist products....always feels bulky. I'm an average build, tall-ish guy and the M.F. stuff seems to be built for guys who are more square shaped....so you may have luck there if that is your shape.

Overall tho...yes there's a lot of stuff on the market, but you really can't go wrong with Klim. They make good stuff and that's that.

Klim Valdez is probably the most bombproof out there. I like the stealth gear due to slimmer fit and more flexible but it is not as tough as the Valdez. I have a couple holes from branches. The lochsa one piece is awesome. The gators on the stealth gear are better. More of a pain to zip up but they stay put.

I currently have a klim storm jacket. It's been great. I also have had the motorfist recon and klim Valdez. Not a tear in any of them and I like to bash around in the trees.

I really like my HMK Peak 2 jacket for the backcountry. It is a lightweight, but durable and breathable jacket. I typically wear my long sleeve base layer, a fleece pull over, techvest, and then the jacket. I remove the fleece typically once I'm offtrail.

I had extreme conditions last week in the UP of michigan; below zero, white out conditions and powder! Picked up a 1st gen Stealth jacket for $225 brand new and loved it. We ride off trail in the woods and with a base layer long sleeve and FXR Sherpa jacket on, I was perfect to well below zero conditions. Togwotee bids with thermal pants also worked perfectly. Never wet and always comfortable inside the hotel or outside...great product. I was torn between the stealth and Valdez, the Valdez feels more durable but I don’t feel like the stealth will not hold up. Super comfortable and cut in a way that is not super bulky.

Look around, great deals out there!

I'm slowly switching my outer wear to Tobe. First got there Vivid boots which are amazing. Then bibs & this year will be getting a jacket. I like Klim for base layers though.

Motorfist Freeride

I ran the 1st gen one for 2 years and its now my around the house/chores coat. over 100 days on the snow bashing trees and having fun now it keeps me warm and dry around the shop.

Got one of their new ones this season. 20 days in it so far and love it more then the first version. Little more practical then the first one (better pockets) and even better more active cut on it. Warm, dry, and super light/maneuverable? Time to wash it though, unfortunately the hi viz/green is not ideal if you head into burnt trees.
