Best Alpine/Boondocking Sledding near Trail, Nelson, Kaslo???

Making a trip to the area Jan 2-6th. Looking for any pointers for good riding areas in the region. Will probably stay near Nelson, don't want to drive all the way to Revelstoke or much farther north than Kaslo. Girl and I ride Mtn sleds and prefer off trail boondocking and higher altitude open play areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also any ideas for accommodations in the area would be great as well.

Meadow crk would be a nice place to go. Nice alpine meadows. It's about 1/2 hour drive north of kaslo.

Medow mnt will be closed by then for cat sking, keep driving to revy.

Our snow is a bit sparse right now. If you want to hit the Salmo Creston Pass, we have wicked fun areas.. the Ramada inn in Creston is very sled friendly, awesome food, Timmy's right across the street, with access to riding either up the salmo creston pass or up the lake.
If you keep on Trucking to Nelson the Prestige is a beautiful hotel, there are quite a few awesome areas fairly close to town. Give out is fun, six mile lakes is fun.
We really really do need more snow though. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
