I need a new pump for my fox floats. I run them front and rear so the flex hose is a must.
I know there is many options out there other then what fox offers. Have you guys found something that installs easy, doesnt leak, pumps up a high pressure shock quickly at 10,000ft, and doesnt loose a bunch of psi unhooking it from the shock.

Thanks Eric

I use a bike pump that was designed for Rox Shox on a mountain bike. If you look at them closely, they are the same.

Because the new fox pump I used last year SUCKED!!! I was trying to dial in a new rear skid and was playing with settings. More then once I spent 10-15 minutes pumping 200-300 strokes on the piece of junk.

I know there are tons of options for bike pumps on ebay. Just looking for feedback on a good one. Eric

I use a Planet Bike Shockmate shock pump. They are about $30. It goes to a higher pressure and is faster than the Fox pump. The hose doesn't leak either, but it still does loose a little air when it is unscrewed so I just pump up 5 psi over the pressure I want.

Your local mountain bike store should carry this or something similar. If you have a REI store near by, you can get it there.

I don't think the pumps lose much air when you disconnect them. Seems like it's air escaping from the pump when you release it... and when you connect it again air pressure drops a bit since it's taking air out of the shock to fill up the pump again. I'm sure it loses some air but not as much as you see when connecting the pump back up. A good example is my evol R shocks. The evol chamber will show a 15psi loss when you disconnect/reconnect, while the main chamber only shows about a 2psi difference at most. Probably because the pump takes more air out of the small evol chamber to fill itself up compared to the main chamber.

Here is a good review of all major compact shock pumps. These guys like the fox handle the best, but pick the Topeak their favorite since it's even more compact than the fox pump and delivers more air per stroke.
