I'm in the shop right now and want to turn down the oil pump on my 07 D7. I'm currently running around 8gal of fuel to 1qt oil. Do you have to take the throttle bodies off to get access to the pump?

Thanks in advance
Jon

It helps,

major P.I.T.A. no matter what.

Wrench size is 10mm

Here's a pic

1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns took my 2007 D7 from 37:1 to 57:1 as a reference

So, that little bit moved the ratio 20 points

Thanks Kraven! I didn't know if there was a trick to it. I'm gonna tackle it, but it looks like theres gonna be alot F BOMBS said. SLP must've really cranked up the oil pump for some insurance. My EV bellows are always full of oil which i believe is loosing me some R's when i get up in elevation. As always, your full of great advice

Jon,

Glad to help,

Sounds like you're at 32:1 now, I'd recommend 1-1/2 to 1 3/4 turns and that should get you close.

After that, just re-check and confirm with the first few fill-ups

I just cut my 10mm wrench so it was only about 3in long. Making it alot easier. Also removed the throttle bodies and zip tied them out of the way. Have a light down were the air box would be and rwmoved the clutches so i can see easier what im doing through the belt guard.

Thanks again

To take it one step further, I removed the tank in addition to the above.
