best 2012 mountain sled

I can't say the result surprised me because the RMKs are awesome sleds, but they compared it to the M1100T HCR and basically said "The Turbo cat climbs really well and the Polaris is lighter" - Thanks for that bit of insight.

Rasmussen and Burandt rode today and are riding together again tomorrow. I am hoping to get a comparison between the M800 and PRO as it sounds like that is what they are riding.

If I were a cat fan, I'd be nervous. The rider looked like he was struggling to keep it on a side hill. The turbo nytro looked easier.

Uh oh, now you've started it. You should have pasted it in the Mountain or general section.

Is it just me or do the AC spindles look totally stupid like they're about a foot and a half longer than they should be?? Tee Hee...

Lol, I used to think the skidoo guys were the first ones to get buthurt from opinions on their sleds, but man was I wrong! The guys in green are the worst! They take everything said to heart and neg rep anything that doesn't say their green machine is best. I bet even in here I'll get a few fan boys who will neg rep me for hatin on their super duper new sled.

I really don't care what the morons at 24/7 say, but, it is amusing to see the cat boyz go apoplectic about the most underpowered 800 topping the 1100T. Think the M800 would have done well, tho - in the pics, they had more than 1 proclimb, in the retro black. Cat might be trying to sell lots of 4s, if they don't have a DI 2 in their future, and asked them to only test the 4.

I know that the test means nothing, and according to my friend who is an Arctic Cat dealer, AC is pushing the 4 stroke pretty hard. 25% of his season order had to be 4 stroke, and anybody who snowchecks a 4 stroke does not count toward his 25%, whereas a snowcheck of a 2 stroke does count.
I would have like to see the M8 tested, as I think it will be the king of their fleet. That 4 stroke turbo weighs 130# more than the pro. If I turned my boosted pro down to 6# and rode around with my wife on the back seat all day I think I'd have a pretty good comparison.

I think you would have to put her on the hood to get the same feel..but I agree, it is disapointing they didnt test the M800 as well.......

Kinda interesting, couple of the quotes about the Pro RMK were pretty good,

"I fell in love with it and the whole crew fell in love with it, even guys from other brands fell in love with that sled "

"Everyone agreed, the best in class was the Polaris 800 Pro RMK"

On a side note, those new Cats from the front end...............look hideous!!! Can you made the spindles any taller and the upper A-arm look any more ridiculous!

My thoughts exactly! And i said so over in the "Kitty Cat" section too. Poor boys got a little pissy and gave one me a bad rep for voicing my opinion...LOL Kind of silly if you ask me.

Cheers!!

ive heard the standard steering on the production 1100 cats is what sucks and the stance, ive heard you can order with a vertical post like the 800 and a 38" stance on snow check now. If you get one with a standard post they might be offering a kit.

The vertical/extending post won't fit in the chassis with the 4stroke motor. It's only available on the M800.

Quote about 1100T
"This thing is so point and shoot"

Isn't that what all the Apex riders say?

Point and shoot, and pray to God you don't get stuck!!! I'm sure they've got great power, but bottom line when you get a tank stuck, your digging a tank out!........................No Thanks!!!

Now if you watch the video when they get to the mountain segment it shows the HCR cat and a 50th anniversary. Wonder why they didnt say anything about the 50th anniversary cat sitting on the far left? Props to poo for mountain sled of the year. :face-icon-small-coo
