The pro rmk assault went end for end today the tunnel is bent from the running board back to the bumper bent about 3/4" of an inch down and the front bumper is toast not sure on anything else yet just wondering if my sled is going to be declared totaled from the insurance company or if there just gonna say fix it has anyone else had a similar situation

When I bent the tunnel on my MM insurance paid me $2200 to get it fixed. I took it to the dealer for an estimate and they cut the dealer a check. I ended up having him order a new tunnel and track kit from MPI and installed it all myself. Ended up better than new!

Did your insurance go up? I've never made a claim on a sled so I'm not sure if your insurance goes up with a claim like a transportation vehicle

My rates didn't change. You could always call your insurance and inquire about rate changes if you were to make a claim.

neither did mine. I got the estimate, then called and told them If it was going to increase my rates that it wasn't worth it to fix as mine was mostly cosmetic. I was informed that a power sports policy is completely different in the way the adjust/calculate rates, and they wouldn't change. I wouldn't advise putting in 5 claims a year as iv'e heard of people getting dropped (mostly boats w/3 clains a year all over 25,000).

My 3 sleds and enclosed trailer are all on one policy. Couple of years ago in a parking lot my trailer slid on the ice into the bumper of a truck. I claimed that. A week later my track tore and my agent said I could claim that....when my premium came due again it more than doubled, when I asked why they said it was because I had 2 claims in a short period of time (less than a year apart)...did not matter how big or small they would have been. That was 3 years ago. Just filed a claim now, 1st since then (and actually a different policy that showed no previous claims) and they say they will raise my rate for three years.....that is a claim for 600.00.

just an FYI on this topic. I rolled my 2011 switchback assault last year. insurance paid to repair the sled. replaced the tunnel and bulkhead assembly, 2 right front A-arms, steering post and handle bars, with labor total bill was $7500.00 Canadian. insurance said they would repair the sled up to $9500.00 damage before writing it of. funny thing is, if you did not know the sled was rolled you could not tell it was damaged except for the bent handlebars. tough machine.

American Family Ins. here. This is for my Apex, but same deal I'd think. I made a claim that got paid out for about $4000 two years ago on my Apex. Took the money and fixed it myself for cheaper and with better than stock parts. Last year I totaled that same sled out and they paid me out about $7200 for it. My rates have not gone up any. I consider myself very lucky. My rates have not gone up a single bit. It must very from provider to provider.:face-icon-small-coo
