Benelli vs Beretta (Shotgun Opinion)

F
Just wondering your opinions on the Benelli Super Black Eagle 2 versus the Beretta Extrema 2?

I have heard both are great, I am in the market for a NEW semi-shotgun.

Thanks!

benelli for sure. i'd carry my old pump gun before shooting another pos beretta. although i do love my browning gold, but you have to keep it clean.

Looks like we have quite the Benelli crowd out here...thats the way I have been leaning....I've been shooting a Browning BPS for the past 3 years, but it doesnt like to eject 3 1/2 inch shells.

i don't think i have ever seen a good shooting bps. seems like they all double feed, and have trouble ejecting.

I'd buy either one. See how it feels and buy whichever one you like most. If you still can't decide buy the cheaper of the 2.

quit shooting 3.5s, it doesn't add that much. If that's the sole reason you are looking I'd just buy 3 inch shells.

Not that you need a reason for a new gun.

I have a Benelli and like it a lot - never shot the Beretta so I can't compare the two. I have had no issues with my Benelli, it's been a great gun so far. I don't do any waterfowl so I just have the Montefeltro, mostly just throw 2.75" shells at the upland birds, with the occasional 3" if the pheasants are busting out waaaaay in front of us.....

I have a Benelli M2 tactical with Surfire light and pistol grip, Sweet Sweet gun.

I also have a Wilson Combat Scatter Gun. It starts out as a Remington 870 and they Gut it and do a parkerized finish and put all there componets in it with a surfire light and pistol grip as well.

Both guns shoot great, The Benelli is lighter so you feel the kick more so the Scatter gun is more fun to shoot a lot.

Come to Idaho Ill show you 3, BPS are a lil finicky with certain ammos, My personal one doesn't like to eject winchester shells. I feed is a steady diet of kents ( from 2 3/4 up to 3 1/2) all fall and never have a problem with it.

Given the origonal question though, I would go with the Ben. Have a couple in the group that we hunt with and they work great all the time and the owners aren't exactly known for their cleaning skills.

Thanks bubba, I will try out the Kents this year....the BPS doesnt like winchesters or federals.

The only time I shoot 3 1/2's is at high snows, blues, rosses or canadians....its just nice to have a little extra sometimes.

The reason I'm buying right now is because im moving back to MN, and am a colorado resident...meaning I wont be able to buy a gun in MN for another 6 months.

kents seem to be good. i bought 6 cases of fasteel a coulpe years ago for 9.99 a box
