Hey guy's,

I would like to get the word out to anyone that may be interested in a benefit spaghetti dinner and raffle to help out one of the nicest persons I know, Rhonna Cowan Sweeny, the wife of a fellow Snowester mod03rmk800 (Rod).

Rhonna has pancreas cancer. A dinner and raffle is in the process of being organized to raise funds to help her go to John Hopkins Cancer Center in Baltimore Maryland for surgery.

The benefit dinner ($5-adults,$3-children) and raffle is scheduled to be at the Eagles Lodge (2420 South Ave.) on June 13th, 2010 in Missoula from 3pm - 7pm.

Again if interested please stop by in support of this fundraiser.

As for us here on Snowest, Rhonna's also the sister of fellow Snowester rcditchpickle (Ross) and myself.
We're all praying for her (and Rod) and wish her the best. We love you Sis, get well soon.:rose:

I would not be able to make it there then due to a prior family engagement but would gladly be willing to buy a dinner ticket or two....any other raffle ticket to be bought at the same time? Let me know where to send $$ to. Hope everything goes well and our prayers are with her as well.

John, as the date gets closer I'll know better if I can make it.

My thoughts are with all of you.

Thanks guys.

I'll do my best to keep everyone posted as the benefit nears. The raffle is for a new rifle I believe. Not sure what caliber but I'll post when I know. There will be a silent auction with another rifle and so on.

Hope to know more soon and I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again,
John

Thanks Hayden.

Hope to know more soon but it sounds like it's going to be a $5 per ticket raffle. The gentleman that bought the "raffle" rifle also had all of the tickets made up in support of Rhonna.

If any of you have been to Ruby's near Trempers you may very well know her as she has worked there and made many friends for 25 years.

Looking forward to seeing you guys there Lucas.

Ok the $5 per ticket raffle is for a new Marlin 22 Semi Automatic Rifle with a 14 Shot Tubular Magazine. Drawing is June 13th, 2010. Need not be present to win! If interested please send a pm my way and I'll get ya fixed up.

Thanks again for the support.

John, do you have any more info on what's going to be in the silent auction? Might help coax a few more fellas into coming down....

I really wish I knew what all has been donated for the silent auction but I'm not sure to be honest. Rhonna's closest friend that organized this benefit has been collecting all of the donated items.

Great people from all around have been donating items of all sorts and it sounds like a long list with 'something for everyone' type of thing. They have asked for some help to haul everything down to the Eagles, so thats what I'll be doing on Sunday morning.

Just hearsay, there will be another rifle (300 Weatherby), Monty Dolack prints, rc helicopter, back lit elk silhouette lamps, many gift certificates, etc .....

She did ask me tonight if we were all riding four wheelers Saturday and I said I'm in so I'm hoping she'll feel up to it when Saturday gets here even if it's for just a couple hours.

Sending out another THANKS to all that have sent prayers and kind words, participated in the raffle drawing, and supported Rhonna in her fight against cancer.

I would also like to say that I'm extremely humbled by all of the great people that you never hear about (many right here on Snowest) that go above and beyond to help out friends, family, and total strangers. I'm here to say we have A LOT of great citizens amongst us and this is a THANKS to them.

John

I really want to thank everyone that participated in the very successful benefit dinner, raffle, and silent auction in support of Rhonna along with all of the prays sent her way.

The last I heard around 650 plates or so of spaghetti were served. I'm estimating all in all that closer to 800-850 people turned out to show their support.

The winning raffle ticket that was drawn for the Marlin 22 was purchased and donated back to Rhonna by Joyce L. from Missoula.

The fifty fifty drawing was won by Linda S. and she gave the winnings back to Rhonna.

Lots of gifts were donated for the silent auction (a 300 Weatherby Mag, a new Klim Helmet from Kurts Polaris, some very nice framed pictures and prints, and the list goes on) that made it very successful silent auction.

Thanks so much,
John

John, we talked about coming, and had plans to make it and then a friend of ours had a baby...their 4th, and we went to see them and were not able to make it to the dinner.

I'm really glad that it went so well and that so many plates were sold. I saw the article in the paper this weekend too. That was a GREAT article.

Hope all is well.

Scott, Tough being in more than one place at a time but thanks still for the thoughts and well wishes. With 4 kids I bet their busy. Hope everything went well. Little ones are the coolest. I have little John's little guy for a couple weeks or so and will cherish every moment.

800poodragon, THANKS for everything. Really would like to get together for a ride this fall and I'm buying.

It was great to see the Kurt's Polaris crew. Thanks for your support.

No worries, John. I know all you guys would do the same for us. On a lighter note, I won the gift certificate for a free psychic reading, so if any of you guys want to get in on what the next powerball winning numbers are, I'm taking $25 donations and I'll pm them to you next week......

I thought that was fitting until I found out it DIDN'T say "psychotic readings".
