Bend to Diamond Lake?

Looking for maps or directions to ride from Bend to Diamond lake. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Their maps aren't real detailed but you can go to the OSSA web site and click on the maps. They will give you an idea of what's involved in the ride. It looks like some parts of the ride will be ungroomed.

I've heard of people riding to diamond lake and spending the night and riding back so I know it's possible. This is my first year riding so I haven't done it yet.

in the old days it was go south on century drive 46 to manleys for more gas.

we use ranger district maps. are pretty detailed and have road numbers and elevations.

Deschutes County sells great detailed maps. Get the Bend and Crescent Ranger District.

From Mt. Bach or Wanoga, either ride to Cultus Lake on the highway, go over Kwolh/Sheridan Mountain (grooomed), or the easy way, south to trail 3 (4025) which is the easiest and fastest way to the Cascades Highway.

Enter Cultus Lake road to trail 55 on left to the Waldo Road. You can also go to Little Cultus Lake and up to Waldo Lake. At the top, go left 2X to the road back down. These trials are not groomed or even ridden.

Take Cross District to Davis Lake and cross over to Crescent Lake (snowpark), food and fuel. Then around Crescent Lake to the trail to Summitt Lake and Diamond Lake.

There is an error. The blue trail just south of Little Cultus is a foot path.

its interesting to see that hwy46 is not a trail south of south century drive.years ago,i think we flew down 46 to south of davis lake and made a right turn to manlys?

Careful, they'll logging and have the South end of High Lakes Hwy plowed. You'll have to take the Moore Creek trail (West side of Davis Lake) to get from Elk lake to Crescent Lake Jct (Manley's).

Are you thinking about putting a trip together? I have been from Elk Lake to Annie Creek, but do not know from Elk Lake to Bachelor.

Elk Lake to Bachelor is about a 15-20 minute ride down the interstate of snowmobile trails. It follows the Cascade Lakes Highway, and is the same route the Elk Lake cat takes back and forth to Dutchman. It is usually wide and smooth.
