Belt testing?

Looking for info on different options for belts. Tired of buying new $100 dollar belts every 200 miles or less, Has any body tested gates xtreme or marshall MTP belts on summits? I have had no luck with the 197 doo belt or the XS-803. I see the XS-821 is a cross for the 377 does that hold up? Currently running a 166 that I got last year with great results, but as we know they are no longer available. 2008 Summit 600 SDI 144". Stock except for clutch side panel opened up for cooling(frog skinz) and plastic belt guard removed. Clutch alignment has been checked. Thanks for any info.

Napa... Gates all the way. I will never purchase a doo belt again! I have 1100 miles this year on a gates.. Look like new still. Also have a gates on my wifes vertical escape! Only way to go in my book!

I have 2 07's. Have over 5000 miles between the 2 and blown zero belts. Not so much as a freyed cord. Both running the 166 belt. The 288 belt is the best replacement for the 166. However if you are going through belts that fast your clutches are not in correct alignment no matter what your dealer or whoever says they are. Either that or your clutching is off and eating them up. With proper alignment and clutching those belts will last several hundred miles.

ditto, you should get atleast 500 miles out of eigther belts,,,,,07's have bad wear problems with the clutch componets. 500 miles and you may need new parts in the clutch, not the belt..... when the belts start showing excessive wear,,,, pull the primary and inspect the damage:rant::rant::rant: then get a new and better primary.

What number belt are you running? I'm interested in some alternatives to a $150 doo belt.
