I thought I set the tension right but put it on the tight side, like giving that bolt an extra pull when you shouldn't. I noticed right away, a wine when I let of of the throttle. Thought that might be a normal belt wine. Not. While it lasted almost a full season, it put enough of a strain on the idler bearings that it allowed the two idlers to touch and creat enough heat to melt the belt. I have since run the belt looser, no wine, no heat, nothing but reliable for two full seasons and the belt looks like new.
I started packing a spare belt in my pack or in my truck, but have complete confidence in the system now.
There was no break in (not that I would have done that), The only thing I had to do was to blow out some excess blue coating, from the belt, after the first couple of rides.
C3 gave me a great deal on the parts I needed to get running. Great service.
