belt deflection ?

i have a 07 m8 i understand that to set the belt deflection you have to add washers or ake out washers that are on the mounting bolt for the secondary.
So how high should the belt sit out of the secondary?do you check it cold or after you have ran the machine till it is warmed up?all info appreciated

i run mine on a stand and adjust untill the track starts to creep while idleing and then back it off just a hare

I just set the deflection on my 09 snopros. The dealer said that the recess in the top cog of the belt needs to be even with the top of the driven clutch. (Factory belt is a top cog belt) On an arctic cat the cord in the belt needs to be below the top edge of the driven clutch. Like was mentioned earlier you can adjust the belt so the machine does not take off at idle as a good start if in doubt. Hopefully this helps.
