Lil bro should have known that the break in on those belts is limited throttle for the first 30 miles and not fully broken in for 100. Banging it hard out of the box with a BD turbo and 3", well anybody could see that one coming.

I disagree- My Twisted turbo is running 250HP

with all stock a/c components, and it is only designed for 140HP, very few people keep their sleds 100% stock, I'm not complaining per se, i'm looking for a solution, so this type of thing isn't the norm, it took 6 guys 1.5 hours to get this sled a distance of 5 miles back to the trail and on 3 occasions we had to pull it by hand. which was a 8itch.

C3 are CMX are your only options right now. I heard a rumor that boondockers has a heat shield that goes around the belt is there any truth to this?

Must have been busted bad! No spare belt? Had to help pull dead sled before, sucks! Chaincase or Assault? Different belt for 2014! where was it for 2013???

i blew mine on the weekend along with 5 other buddies over the last week. There is a recall on the bolts on the pulleys. Mine blew because the bolt on the top pulley was loose. Polaris has new bolts that need to be torqued to 45 ft lbs rather than the 30 ft lbs from factory. Make sure everyone checks these bolts before riding if you havent got your sled into the dealer yet for this recall fix.

Yes boondocker has one that has just come out which eliminates alot of heat on the belt. Another precaution guys are doing is wrapping their cans.

Sorry but the belt drive on the 13's is CRAP ...plain and simple...uses a stupid one off 11mm belt instead of the rock solid gates 8mm gt, no idler adjustment, its GARBAGE. There pulleys are also junk, either go back to the ultra reliable about the same weight chaincase or use the available 8mm belts and billet hard anodized pulleys. There is no defending this design, break in a drive belt....hahahahhaah I've been racing blown alcohol cars using gates 8mm belts for decades, out of the box to 13,500 rpm first run zero "break in" required. Oh and it's totally INSANE to run a non idler gates belt in a high rpm application as well.:face-icon-small-dis:face-icon-small-dis:face-icon-small-dis

My thoughts exactly Bad Design JUNK.

BD's turbo and kit are getting the belts too hot and melting them IMO... I am guessing he was riding it pretty hard and did these three pulls right in a row?? I went and talked to VOHK a few days ago he said he could melt his off easy holding it wide open for a long period of time. But he claims it has nothing to do with the exhaust heat, said they put the heat shields on a few sleds and still the same thing. He said its from the friction of the pulleys and extra HP... I don't see how its not the exhaust heat though seems you here about the BD's a lot more then any other kits, and there the only ones you here about melting the belt... I sure hope Polaris's belt for next year is a lot stronger and can withstand some heat or I may end up like your bro as well..

How did the sled run otherwise? How'd it compare with your M8?
