Invest les than a hundred bucks in a new 160 to 180 pound front skid shock spring, see if I am right and it makes a new sled out of it. Zbroz has them. You can buy Cat 160 spring but it is not as good as the Zbroz in my opinion.

Long story short Viper XTX and MTX ship with a 110 pound front skid shock spring....why I do not know! 110 makes it nose heavy and trench like crazy in powder. After changing spring you can lift the front skis off the ground by hand from the front bumper.

Why this wasn't a recall I will never know.

Was no fun stock, heavy steering feel and white outs when you popped off the throttle. Trenching that made your doo and poo buddies laugh and point at the canal you just dug.....

I'll second swapping out the spring to a 160/180. I could have probably went to a 180, but the 160 seriously transformed how my sled handled. The front of the skid no longer collapses which allows it to roll up on its side easier. I was a side hillin' SOB last spring in McCall!

20-0800-160 for 160 spring and 20-0800-180 for 180 spring. I would say 160 spring for riders 160 to 200 pounds weight and 180 over as a guess. I say guess as some M8 guys are running a 180 and like it, depends on your preference. They sell the Viper spring pockets as the spring is slightly different in diameter but I run the stock pockets let your conscience be your guide.

Install and run adjuster up until the slack is gone and 2 full turns for a starting point is my suggestion.

I'm just around 220, and i am aggressive, should i just throw the 180 at it and see what happens? haha

I'm about 220 and use the 160, but I think the 180 would have worked even better. Throw it on there and let us know how it works!

I have the LE model with the fox floats all the way around. Any advice to fix the feel for this sled? Obviously no spring to change out but still got a heavy front end. Suggestions for PSI in the setup?

On my 7000 153", 2.6"
Front shocks 60 to 65 psi
Front skid shock 55 psi
Rear shock (EVOL) 120 psi in the main chamber, 180 psi in the EVOL chamber.
With a 175lb rider without gear, type of riding mainly mountain/boondocking.

Not sure what year your Viper is or which skis your running, but skis make a big difference on the Viper/7000 as well.

I put Grippers on mine last year and really like them. I paid just over $100 for a slightly used set off ebay, and fitment was a breeze.
