Beef up an m7

I went riding yesterday 2/15/10. And we came to some big hills. Im only 15 but im really starting to learn how to ride. But i was getting out highmarked all day by a 1000. Yes i understand i wont come close to a 1000 but i couldnt even make it to the top. What can i do to my 05 m7 to get some better highmarks out of it without doing a bigbore? Ive already got a straightline can and a cuttler clutch kiT. Thanks.

Get creative with your lines. You have much less power then an M1000, use your manuverability to your advantage. Look for ways to make the hill flatter, sidehill, use benches, etc. You may not beat them in a straight line but a really good rider on an M7 can make it up some crazy stuff...besides, who cares who does best in a straight line?

Well im actually getting really good at that. But even then i cant make it. Just yesterday i hit this hill in a sidehill then cut straight up started slowing down, sidehilled left, back straight, and then had to sidehill out. And i tried the same hill 4 times and couldnt make it!!! But yes i understand if you can ride you can pretty much go everywhere besides the straight shoots.

I think a new track will be your best bet.

You need better/bigger paddles on your track. The Power Claw is a great track and makes older sleds climb much better then the stock M7 Camo or A-20 in all conditions.

A new Power Claw will cost you $500-$600+ but you should be able to find one used for $450 less. Then you can sell your stock track for around $250. That way your $200 into the new track.

Clutching makes all the difference in the world. I see you have a culter kit, what is your set up? I have been fighting clutching my sled but right now I think i have a combination that works fairly good. There's not too many places around here where a well running m7 won't be able to make. I see you live near by, maybe we could hook up for a ride and compare.

Unless you have a great job at 15, ride what you have and save your and your dads money for gas and repairs. If you spend all your money on mods, what are you going to do when it dies? Even if you have been riding since you were 5 I'd be willing to bet there is still a lot to learn.

same deal

dude im 17 ride a 141 M7 AND CAN keep up with any m8 out there. just keep ur body with the sled and if ya feel her start to bog do the shake and theyll comne outta it. im thinkin about getting a power claw track... heard they do wonders so ya. if i get one ill tell ya how it goes. liike is said use your body to throw it arrond and keep the throttle to the bars... youll learn what you can and cant do. whatever you do dont get a pipe and can without a fuel control box they suck. i would go witht the track upgrade and gear it down for a whole gear set up its about 200 bucks but well worth it.
