How's the snow around Bearlodge? My wife and I will be out there Jan 8-12 :D:beer;and I was wondering what to expect. Thanks:face-icon-small-ton

The snow further south is great - we could always use more, but there's a few feet of powder everywhere! I heard that too from some guests that we had and rode here from Bear. I've seen a lot of happy sledders this weekend! We're supposed to get more snow later this week :-)

It snowed just a little bit overnight, but then we had so much wind that there's drifts everywhere and just hard snow in other places. Still lots of great places to sled and find deep powder, but we would sure welcome some more powder!!!!

christmass ride

Rode over christmass weekend with my son and had a great time. Same old story snow hard and wind blownon the tops and found good powder around the trees. on the 26th we went up wallrock and when we got close to the top the west side of the valley came down. No one was caught in the avelanche but reminds you to alwways wear a beacan. 27 we rode to bucking mule fallls they still could use a little more snow but had a great time. :p

Looks like snow out there today, leaving in the morning, did you get any lately (snow)?

Sweet, thanks alot for the info. It'll make the drive out way more fun, thinking of the new snow.

Lots of new snow

Bearlodge got between 2-4 FEET of snow overnight, depending on where you ride!! Yes, I said FEET!! Break out the snorkel & the shovel boys! May have to call in sick tomorrow. ;-) I heard they might get a lot of wind tomorrow though. We'll see.

Where you getting your info? Snotel shows 13 inches of new snow on Bald Mtn, and lower amounts on the other sites! Just cause you lie about the snow fall doesn't mean the snow will be better! WOW some people..

Are you sure it wasn't 2-4 foot drifts!! That I will believe with all the wyoming wind up there so far this year.:(

I don't know about up there at Bear Lodge, but he's not lieing about the amount of snow we have here, further south. If you don't believe it, check out our snowcam at www.rangercreekranch.net. That's no drifts, that's 4 feet of snow!!!!! :D

Lodge is at 8300' I believe and peaks are at about 9800' in the north horns. Setting up for 7 or 8,000-10,000 would put you in good shape.

We just got back today. they said that on Wed. they got 40" by snowshoe. We were going to leave yesterday at 6 am from Bear Lodge but they got 20-22" at the lodge and they road down to Dayton didn't open until 2:30 pm. Take a shovel because if you like to play you can get stuuuuck:D. Was an awsome weekend.

Not so much the Southern Horns, but right in the middle..... here at Ranger Creek (approx. 17 miles south of Burgess Junction) we've got lots of the good stuff!!! I'd say approx. 4 feet and that's in the open. In the trees you'll find a lot more! The snow is great, it's absolutely worth the drive up!
For the latest update, please check out our snowcam at www.rangercreekranch.net.
Hope to see you soon!
Corine.
