Bear Lodge Reviews

Hey guys.

Have a trip planned for the end of Feb. and will be staying at Bear Lodge. Its already all booked and ready to go.

Just out of curiosity today I googled Bear Lodge and read some reviews on Trip Advisor. Kind of has me worried now. People mention bed bugs, dirty etc. Couple good reviews but few and far between. I'm not expecting top accomodations or anything, but not so crazy about ending up with a room full of bed bugs.

Can anyone comment on what this place is like? Hoping I didn't make a mistake booking.

There was bed bugs in the past and I think it only happened once, but there was a lot of people talking about it so it spread quickly, I think it's a decent place to stay! It has gotten better I would say, you will be fine staying there!

I have stayed there many of times, I prefer to it any other lodge on the east side, I've never had any problems with the staff or anything and the rooms have always been clean , great food, great bar and better hot tub then elk view IMO

I went and read some of the reviews and found some of them surprising.
We have stayed there every March for the last nine years in both the motel and condos units and never had a bad experience.

You'll be fine staying there, bears a good place. The bar there is even better

It's probably the best place to stay of your three choices. Last four times I've stayed there they messed our reservations up and stuck us in different rooms than we were supposed to be in. Book a room at the parking lot and end up on the second floor. No place to put your cooler and drag everything up and down stairs.

I know it's on the second floor but we stayed in room 207 twice and it was the nicest room that we stayed in during the several times we have been there. I thought the Elk View Lodge (formally The Passage) was much nicer. The food at the bear was pretty good so expect to put on a few pounds!

I have stayed there many times and never had a bad experiance. Big Mikes Breakfast is great.
