Bear Lake

emigrant parking lot

I am not sure how the snow is at the trail head parking lots of paris and bloomington, but the emigrant lot at the top of the pass on Hwy 36 (road between Preston and Montpelier) has 75" at the parking lot and just gets deeper from there. I rode it Monday.

If you haven't left yet Cub River will more then likely have bare spots in it due to rain here in Franklin over night, it wasn't too bad last Friday but there was a few dirt spots, we did get some good snow here on Tuesday but that probably melted this morning, I would head up to the top of Emigration (Hwy 36) or try Mink Creek.

I will be comming from Salt Lake City and staying over night in the Bear Lake Valley. Once I am there I was hoping not to drive to far, but if I have too.

I was up Paris, Blooming ton and St. Charles Last week and they all were sparce on the bottom but up the road within about 1/2 mile was amazing and get better the farther you go up. St. Charles was the best but riding from the truck was best up bloomington. Paris wasn't too bad however there were some bare spots along the way up the hill.

My 6 yr old son crashed a sled along the Birch creek road....Its still there. Be careful...I have heard that the snow has been "over the hood deep" all week.

Good snow your way.

Sorry to hear about your Son, hope he was ok.

I know this thread isn't worth anything with out pics, but this weekend was amazing. The snow was unreal I couldn’t have asked for better conditions in April. You are correct Bloomington was the best place to unload and wonderful up top. The lake itself was a little sketch for Avy so we stayed away from the steep. St Charles however was my favorite between second summit and pigs tail. It was just crazy deep and untouched in most spots.

I am hoping to get back up next weekend.
