Bottom lines....
1. Get off your sled to do a beacon search
2. keep a transmitting beacon a minimum of 6-10" away from electronics or metal.
3. keep a receiving beacon a minimum of 12-20"

This decustion just came up yesterday With a friend. Thanks for the usefull info.

Kind of hard to kep your transmitting beacon away from metal if you and the sled are buried under 10 feet of snow together.

But it is important to know if your are searching with a beacon.
