Be careful out there!

ridiculous!
They were totally unprepared, went out of bounds at a resort they didn't know, and never told anyone where they were going.....
One bad judgement call, and now everybody in bc loses

What a Fricken Crock!
Knowingly going out of bounds was a bad decision they made all on their own. No one forced them to break the rules. Why is it that some people's stupidity is always someone else's fault? The frustration they went through over that 9 day period no doubt was unimaginable but IMO they only have themselves to blame. I'm not saying she deserved to die because of a bad choice, but how can they blame this tragedy on someone else? Saddest part of this whole bloody fiasco is he's gonna come out of this a rich man.

Charge him with criminal negligence for not preventing his wife from going out of bounds. Sucks she died but the level of wetodd this guy is showing is just amazing.

Mother nature is a harsh mistress.

What BS! What the hell has happened to personal responsibility and accountability! Search and Rescue are flipping volunteers you azzhat! They do it out of the goodness of their heart. Now because of his lack of personal accountability he is going to harm so many other people if these volunteers quit! What a selfish POS!

You know what I say....if these volunteers quit because of his gay a$$ lawsuit and people get hurt/killed because there are no volunteers to help.....start filing suits against this douche for perpetuating it and in return harming others.

I understand the guy is pizzed because the SOS was spotted and no one reacted right away....but when you go into the back country on anything you are accepting the risk that you may get lost, broke down, hurt, or caught in a circumstance that is beyond your control. Anyone who goes out of bounds unprepared to spend the night is an IDIOT!

failure to plan is planning to fail, and this was an EPIC fail on frenchies part.

from what i understand SAR can't go out without authorization from the RCMP and that they were the ones that didnt approve the search because there were no missing person report. it'll probably be the goverment that will pay, or us howerver you want to put it.

wonderful, this moron goes across resort boundries knowingly, gets lost, and because of freak chance stuff is screwed up and a search isn't launched immediatly, he can sue S&R and the resort for them being idiots.

It's never good to see someone die because of neglect, but i would think that the resort and S&R have no fault in this.

they had no business being out there in the first place. From the sounds of it next time he goes out in the back country he will have no reason to stamp out SOS because all the S&R's will say screw it, its not worth the lawsuit.

Her family should be suing him for taking her out there on purpose.
Helicopters didn't spot the SOS, a heli-ski employee who was ski touring spotted them in the snow, and reported it when he got back to town. The French guy made an sos and didn't stay near it or put an arrow in the direction he was going. If he'd stayed near the SOS he would have been found on day 3 or he should have just walked out on the ski-tour tracks.

He should be charged and sued for going out of bounds! That is frigging rediculous he is even thinking of sueing. Lucky he didn't end up in jail for going out of bounds and putting everyone on the ski hill in danger

Let search and rescue stop for skiiers, let it continue to the people who are greatful for their services! :beer;

i think the volunteer search is only named as a formality in the suit as with most suits etc with the real intention being the rcmp who did fail in initiating the search when notified of an S.O.S when it would have saved a life...i am of two thoughts...yes the guy was irresponsible...but yes as well the RCMP did ignore when notified a clear and standerd method of a serious plea for HELP...and im sorry to say that it was likely only laziness that dictated their actions..not unfortunate communication issues..the husband failed in common sense....the R.C.M.P failed in their duty...

Maybe he should sue his parents.
Its their genetics that caused him to be a brain dead moron.
Should be a poster child for a condom commercial.

The person died because they are a bunch of idiots. ANYONE with half a sense would of been smart enough to not go out of bounds for one, and if they did, be smart enough to make it out on their own.

I feel no sorrow for them, don't care what the RCMP did or didn't do, it's their own fault and no one elses. Anyone with half a brain would of made it out themselves.
