Be careful out there with all the new snow in the US...AVY danger will be high!

Please ride smart...and come home to your family. Stay out of start zones, slide paths and runoutzones. Low angle trees would be a great place to play as long as they are not below a slide path.

Have fun and enjoy the pow! I'm glad it started snowing down there....

Good advice.

Very good advice, hopefully people will listen. It was sickening watching what some of the morons where doing in Cooke city last weekend...and people wonder why so many Avy deaths happen each year...

Cooke has got to be the capital of people doing dumb $h!t. I don't know what it is about that place, but it just seems to bring out the worst behavior possible. I think it is a miracle more people haven't been killed there. I hope nothing bad happens after this storm we get. The snowpack is damn scary right now.

Colorado

On Monday within 100 feet of turning off trail I remote triggered a small slide (20 foot pitch) from 50 feet away. Fractured not on the new/old interface, but a wind crust/facet interface 6" below the new/old interface (made for about an 18" soft slab). Also saw cracks shoot up to 50' in both directions of my sled when I got near a convex roll. I stayed in low angle terrain all day, just a couple spots on the slopes that briefly hit 35-40* and they all broke and slid until they piled up against the lower angle (compressive support). Big & steep will kill right now.

Couldn't agree more aebsledder, I ride there quite a few times each year since its not a far drive for the quality of riding but its just ridiculous how many dip$h!ts get away with stupid acts in that area. We saw guys climbing big open faces (several on the hill at once), no packs or shovels or anything, with the rest of the crew's riding group right at the bottom where if a slide did occur they would also be burried. Mind blowing...
